hmph so much for backup

I am very perplexed and annoyed right now.
My backup EHD has decided it needs to reformat itself? WTF? WHY????

i don't think I really lost anything :unsure: b/c it was my backup ::bitter ironic laugh::

off to talk to tech support. grrr.
 
Ugh, how annoying! My iPod actually did that the other day, it was weird. iTunes would NOT recognize it unless I reformatted it, so I lost all the music that was on there (again...thankfully I found it all on my EHD, lol).
 
That's exactly what our backup EHD said to me last week "this drive has not been formatted, would you like to format it now". No, I don't!

Hope you figure it out. I'm taking mine to my computer dude next time I go out that way.

Bree my ipod did that at work, and then I went home and plugged it in fine. And then I came back to work, and it worked fine. Weird right?? (And, I determined that my new songs must be corrupt and are the reason why my ipod keeps resetting itself, it's the only solution. Still no answer from apple techs.)
 
I get that almost everytime I plug my ehd into my lappy. I thought it was a vista thing. I hope you figure it out Mimi!
 
Ugh that would be SO annoying!!! I'm amazed how long my EHD has gone with NO errors, no faults NO Problems...4 years and going with DAILY use and it's a western digital, lol. (knock on wood)
hope you get it worked out!

then what do you do?

the ehd is connected to an XP desktop though.

haven't had a chance to call tech support yet though. I am tempted to just return it. it's only 4 months old :cursing:

I just say no to the format question and go on with my day. :)

hmm, when i did that my EHD won't show up.

HOWEVER, all is not lost b/c i unplugged it and then plugged it back in and everything magically appeared. so weird. :glare:
