David just called....he PASSED his PT test! They ended up giving them a test today, a few days early from planned, and for the first time, someone paced him. A buddy of his who had passed his the other day and is waiting to go to AIT ran with David this morning to motivate him, and to pace him. David said this is the first time he's been paced, and the guy was very motivating. He was about 20 seconds over and he shaved a whole MINUTE off of his run!

He'll leave for AIT now in the next few days (in Missouri) and we'll be stationed and back together in about 7 weeks...right before Christmas! Originally he was going to Airborne school which would have tacked on another 3 weeks, but he's decided to drop that because they have to do a 45 minute 5 mile run there, and let's face it...running isn't his strong suit.

Thank you SO much for your cards and prayers and positive thoughts. Originally I planned on letting the cards and letters be a complete surprise but when he called yesterday and told me he'd be testing today, I told him about them...since he may not get to see them anytime soon LOL! I told him all of the places all over the US that they'd be coming from. I had also compiled a list of the notes from all over the world and mailed them out on Saturday and I told him all of those places too. Then he listened to the Naomi video and I think his spirits were lifted!

Anyway, we're not sure what will happen to the cards and letters. They may get forwarded to Ft. Leonard Wood, or they may be returned to you, or most likely they may come to me, being his home of record. So we'll see. But if you get your card back, please let me know :p I was trying to keep a running tab of how many he got. I know he felt so supported  So, thank you again.

I am SO relieved. With Naomi's birthday on Sunday and everything, I was really worrying about David being unemployed next week! He has to shave a little more time off his run by the end of AIT, about another 30 seconds, but he has 7 weeks to work on that.

Okay, I'm rambling...just so excited and relieved!

awww, i'm actually tearing up! i'm a big baby lol. I'm SO happy for him! i guess i still have some camaraderie from us having been an Army family. i sometimes miss those ties you have when you're all in the same boat. Anyway, again i'm very thrilled for him doing so well! WTG David!

awesome!! Im so glad. I wanted to get something in the mail and I had talked to my daughter and she was going to have a bunch of her ROTC friends and ROTC teachers to write a little note but we didnt have enough warning to get that together. She said she would need a few more days to get it done. I was going to wait until thiss morning and drop that in the mail with my card so I was waiting to see if she had gotten it first. Figured that would be really nice for him to get a card from an entire ROTC class :-)

That's great! I sent him a note on Saturday, but forgot to post that over on your blog. Maybe all the well-wishes were there for him in spirit to help him!
