Don't forget to go vote!
I'm in a district where Scott Simms (remember him from the Weather Network LOL) has won by a landslide the past two elections, so I'm 100% sure he'll be in here again. I'm still not sure who'll have my vote. I'm not overly impressed with Stephane Dion, I'm not a Stephen Harper fan at all. I do like Jack Layton, but in this district it seems a wasted vote on NDP. They haven't campaigned at all, so I have no clue who is even running for them!
I'm still researching even this morning. I do think though, nothing will change, it may be a Liberal minority rather than a Conservative, but I don't think either will win a majority. I'll be surprised if either of them does.
Thoughts on the election?

I don't really get the difference between the Liberal party and the NDP party, though I know my DH's family are all strong NDP supporters in the Vancouver area. Also, you don't actually VOTE for the person who's campaigning for Prime Minister unless they happen to be in your district, right? So very different from here in the US.

Yeah, we vote for whoever in our district, and whatever party has the most seats (like districts) wins the election, and their leader becomes prime minister.

I voted when I got back into town and got the kids home from school. I didn't want to drag them all with me.
But like Kristin, small towns have their advantages. lol In and out in less than 5 minutes!!
I agree with you Jamie, I think it will be another minority government. I don't care for Dion, and not too impressed with Layton. At least Harper has kept most of the promises he made in the last election.
Around here, I didn't see any campaigning, other than for Tories, since that who has been our area rep since I've moved here.

They are counting over here now, our riding is being led by Scott Simms LOL.
Stephen Harper let a lot of us down in Newfoundland, so it's going to affect his results over here.
Did you like Harper's sweater? :D :D :D:D
I'd say the best thing about the election being done after today will be not having to see those freakin' commercials any more, LOL.
This is a weird election. It feels like it snuck up so fast and there was really no one I wanted to vote for. Not a Harper fan. The NDP... well, honestly, they're useless as anything other than opposition. The Liberal party is just not inspiring me these days, and I don't know what to think of Dion. Then there's the fringe parties...
But I believe strongly in exercising your right to vote so, as always, I voted.
I was in and out in just over 5 minutes. It took a couple minutes longer because I couldn't find my voter's card so they had to look me up via my DL. I've never had to wait long even here in the big city. It took a little longer when I lived right in Vancouver, but even then it was quick. I think they set up enough polling stations that it's rarely a problem.

You know it's such a bummer when you like your local candidate but their party leader is a poopy-head. We have a weird system.
I am soooooo confused:confused:

I was predicting a Conservative minority, look like I may have been right.
