It's the most wonderful time of the year....NOT

(forgive me for the 2 of you who read my blog..I'm just reposting because it's easier than retyping it.).

October 1 marks my DH's and my favorite time of the year. We love fall and the season all the way through Epiphany. We love the color, love the celebrations, just love this time of the year.

However,

This year, we're hardly ready for anything as my life has been a bit topsy turvy this summer..and by this time, I'm done with Christmas shopping and we're good to go - I haven't done any yet.

It's 95% humidity and about 120 degrees outside. In actually, it's only 72 (which is bonus) and 83% humidity, but we've got the AC off, it's super sunny, and I've been working hard (too humid to open windows w/o no air moving), and I'm hot, sticky and it HARDLY feels like Autumn.

I know I"ll be cursing this when the first cold weather shows up (which for me is anyhting under 55), but dang it - bring on cold weather! *sigh* LOLOL

Here's a pick of the boys with their autumnal friend, Hank.

Oh they are so handsome! The weather has been up and down here. I am really waiting and eager for the cold myself LOL. I love cold weather.

Ummm. This is Houston year round. I wouldn't know what to do without high humidity. My hair wouldn't know what to do.

I hope that "cold" front comes soon for you!

Come visit me in Colorado, Darcy! Lizzy and I will take you to the Harvest Farm and we'll spend the day in the crisp cool weather and then roast marshmallows over and open fire and girl-talk into the wee hours of the night.

Mmmmm K?

 We even went to the lake this weekend and it was plenty warm enough for the kids to play in the water all day! LOVE that you have decorated for fall inside though!

It is chilly here, and the leaves are all falling. I love Fall, and absolutely love being where I see all 4 seasons (though not enough of summer) each year.

I can't imagine it being 120 degrees!

I'm right there with you Darcy!! It's extremely humid and wet in SA right now. Rain + humidity=AWFUL!! Can't wait for cool HUMID FREE days and nights.

Nice picture! I love fall too, but this year and last year it has stayed warm and summery way too long! Usually we start having fall weather by late September, but we're still in short sleeves and could even be wearing shorts some days. Last year I have pictures taken at the pumpkin patch in early and late Oct--the early Oct photos we're wearing shorts and it was 90 degrees, and in the late October photos we have winter coats with us.

The last of my xmas tasks is getting the annual calendar done. Shopping is pretty much done except for embroidering some names on stockings for my sister and the actual wrapping of gifts. Like you I am an early bird and I am never shopping for xmas after Halloween!

You tricked me, Darcy! I thought this was going to be a vent abt how all the stores are already setting up Christmas displays and it's not even Halloween. I'm sure you don't like that, either.

Feel free to come up here to visit Emmy & me in the Midwest! FI is going on his son's field trip Friday to the pumpkin patch, and it should be a nice 60 degrees when they go. There will be overnight frost Saturday morning!

Oh, your little guys are so cute!!! Winter has always been my favorite season of all. -Until the girls were born!! lol. I still enjoy it, and get super excited with the first snow, but it was not fun lugging around 2 baby carriers in the snow, then once they outgrew them, bundling them up and dragging them through the snow to the car and such! *whew* I haven't gotten to enjoy it really since they were born. Last winter, being down here in GA was awesome, though I missed the snow(it did flurry here for about an hour once). I think this winter will be better, they'll be able to get out and enjoy playing in it for the first time.
Hope you get your shopping done in time! LOL, I'm one who starts on black friday, but I still never finish until Christmas Eve!!! :D

Man, it's cloudy and 65 here! A bit windy too! Perfect for open windows. I wonder why it's so different where you are.

By the way, I can totally picture your house, I bet I could even guess the layout of it--just by that fireplace. :) Good times, good times. Having spend 14 years in that neighborhood... I'll never forget!

LOL Sarah - it was about 4 hrs ago that I posted, before the front came in. It was sticky and uncomfie this morning.

LOL Yeah - I bet you can. We hate that fireplace. It eats up SOOO much wall and floor space. (for those of you who don't know..it's a fireplace set in a corner, but it's huge). We end up using it as book and musical instrucment and toy storage space more than anything.

That front just hit here (SA) thank goodness!! Maybe no more days of upper 80s this year? Could it be??

Adorable boys! I don't envy you one bit Darcy, it's ~70s here but our house traps heat in the afternoon and it's pretty hot throughout the evening. It doesn't get cold till the middle of the night. I'm not a hot weather person, growing up in San Francisco I'm use to the fog and cool breeze. I can't do anything in the heat - don't even touch me!
