These darn kids just don't LISTEN!

Man oh man...I am so frustrated right now. The girls have 2 main rules when they play outside. Kaylee (3) has to stay in our yard and Kristen (6) can only go up or down the street to such & such a point. Well, the girls wanted to go outside and play today and for once Kristen wasn't grounded to just our yard so I said okay, you can take your bike, but stay around here. They were in and out all morning, Kaylee doesn't keep her jacket or shoes on (it's only 10 degrees celcius out there!), Kristen trades sneakers with her 8 year old friend and borrows her 5 year old friend's (a boy) sneakers, their friends leave their junk all over our yard (juice packs, pencils, sunglasses, helmets, socks, etc.), and by the time nap time comes for Kaylee I can't find either of them...I go walking down the road past the point Kristen is allowed to be, and what do I see? Kristen on her friends bike, her 8 year old friend is on Kristen's bike (she isn't allowed to let other kids on her bike), Kaylee is on Kristen's scooter with NO helmet on & no shoes or jacket on! WTF? Holy crap they are both grounded!! Kristen is grounded for a week because she knows the rules and she should've known to make Kaylee go home. Kaylee is grounded for the weeknd because I asked her at least 5 times to put her shoes and jacket on and stay in the yard (I do that more than 5 times every day). While I was putting Kristen's bike back in the shed she came out back and said "now I really want to live with Jessica!" She has mentioned a few times that she wants to live at her house because they pretty much have no rules at all and the kids can do whatever the heck they want. I just told her to get in the house and if she doesn't, I'll add another week :D So now Kaylee is taking her nap and Kristen is taking one too, just because she tired herself out from all the crying. Ugh...you can bet your sweet bippy that I'll be blogging about this... :D

Ughhhhhhh!!!! I was irritated because I woke up to the girls bickering at 6:45 this morning. At least they stayed in the yard today. Rae always runs away and it makes me crazy. Its a good thing we live on a slow street because she'd have been killed by now.

Somedays you must want to tie them on! I know I do :p

Oh no jen! It's one of those days all around. I threatened to bag up every single one of my kids toys this morning and throw them in the trash! I am tired of tripping over them and spending hours a day picking them up and putting them back in the toy box.

Oh, and Kaylee woke up at 5:15 this morning, so I've been awake since then because I can never get back to sleep!

I totally hear ya there girl...my almost 6 year old twins push me to the last straw on a daily basis and the two older ones....forget it. I really think (as bad as they can be) the twins are better behaved than they are sometimes. I don't understand how two boys ages (almost) 15 & 11 can sit there and ask me the same question over & over again after I have said "NO" to them, I am pretty sure that when I say NO, I mean NO so why do they have to keep asking, I really don't get it. They all leave their crap everywhere, you cannot even walk in our basement, it is actually embarrassing!!! I do want to throw out pretty much every toy in the house and ground them all for a month!!!!!

Its stories like this that make me happy we have a fenced in back yard.
I'm so over protective that before we moved out here, if I wasn't outside then my boys couldn't be. I spent a lot of time outside when they were little LOL!

ooooh I bet the steam was pouring from your ears. I'm sorry your day has started out this way.. I hope after their naps, the girls go easy on you and ya'll spend the afternoon happy.

We have a fenced in yard too, but the girls can open the gate...There's no way to get into the house if I locked her inside the yard, so I'd have to constantly go around to the back and unlock it if she needed anything.

You know, its funny. I don't think its ever occurred to either of my boys to ever "run off" when they're outside playing. In fact, they've never even run off in public, EVER.

Oh wait. I take that back. I remember when Cam was four and we were in a department store. I never had to keep a close eye on him because he always just stayed with us. But this day I turned around and he was no where in sight. I called his name, assuming he was in the clothing racks and he didn't answer me (he always answers) and I sorta started to panic. Then these two women walk by and say, "oh, are you looking for a little blonde boy with the red shirt? He's all the way down there (they point to the other end of the store).". Oh, I was so pissed. I marched down there and as soon as Cam heard me calling his name he came to me, looking guilty and frightened of what he knew was coming his way.
I marched his behind into a dressing room and gave him a good swift spanking along with an explanation of how he disobeyed and why it was scary and wrong. Neither he nor Connor have EVER strayed from me again. He still remembers that day. lol

The girls are usually pretty good to stick by me when we're shopping, but at home they just don't obey the rules. Kristen was trying to blame it all on her friend Jessica. Yeah...Jessica forced you to go beyond your boundaries...Jessica made Kaylee take off her shoes and go with you...Jessica took your bike from you and started driving...sure. LOL They are good kids, they just don't think to make sure Kaylee follows the rules (as well as Kristen).

Wow-then I'm extra grateful that our back door opens right up into our fenced in back yard...Landen comes and goes as he pleases. I hope your day gets better Jennilyn!

It's going okay now...Kristen is still upstairs (it's quiet so she's probably still sleeping) and Kaylee ended up taking her nap down here on the couch because she has a cold and kept coughing. She woke up long enough to have a Rice Krispie square and she's back to sleep again. Tonight DH and I are having a meat/oil fondue...it'll be yummy! I just hope the girls naps won't hinder their bedtime. Usually it doesn't...only when we have plans LOL
