My daddy calls this "Po Folks Candy" lol b/c growing up it was cheap to make with 4 kids in the house..and it's easy too...I think most people call it Corn Flake Candy. I just made some and it is SOO good :)

Here's the easy recipe if you want...

6 c. corn flakes
1 c. sugar
1 c. karo syrup
1 c. peanut butter
1/3 stick butter

Melt butter in pan and add sugar and syrup and bring to just a boil...add peanut butter and stir constantly until blended then heat to boiling. Pour over cornflakes and mix. Spread into buttered 9x13 dish and let cool. Very quick and easy and watch out you may just eat the entire pan :)
 
My mom makes that but it has another type of cereal in it along with the corn flakes...we call it Cereal Slice, lol. It's sooo good. The recipe sounds really similar from what I remember.

Last time I went there, my mom had some in her freezer, and I ate almost all of it myself, lol. It was kinda bad for the diet. :p
 
I loveee this...at Christmas time we color it with green food coloring and then form it into wreaths,then top them off with red hots to look like berries...Yummy stuff.

It sure does..DH prefers rice krispies actually...

as a matter of fact I've used several different kinds of cereal and they all work lol....corn chex is good too :)

My hubbie loves these!!! He calls them Cornflake Chewies. His coworkers are always asking when I will make them again. And I have to send them to work with him or I'll eat the whole pan. Betcha can't eat just one!!! LOL.
 
Yep, it is very yummy ... and my mom uses a recipe similar to this to make peanut butter rice krispie bars all the time. :)
