Anyone else's kids go through this phase

of acting like a dog? It drives me nuts. Any random moment throughout the day Caitlyn will say to Chloe "Meeeeer doggie!" (her version of come here doggie) and Chloe jumps down to all fours and runs around like a dog while Caitlyn leads her and says good doggie, and sometimes even tried to ride on her back. :D It's slightly humorous, but it's getting old. If I give them fruit snacks, Caitlyn will throw one on the ground and say getit doggie, and Chloe crawls over and picks it up with her mouth. (for some reason Chloe always plays the doggie...) Occasionally when I'm not expecting it, she'll even get in a few licks to my leg or something before I can stop her. :blink:

Ugh, Caitlyn is also going through a lazy phase, and poor Chloe does whatever she wants. At lunch, if she drops her fork, she'll sit and whine and point til Chloe gets up and gets her fork for her. If I tell Caitlyn to pick up some trash she threw on the floor and throw it away, she'll pick it up and give it to Chloe to take to the trash. I'm putting a stop to this as soon as I see it-I don't let her do it. She's tried to get Chloe to clear her dishes off the table when she's done eating. Chloe always does it unless I catch it in time to stop her.

Anyone else's kids going through these or other weird phases?
 
lmao yes! ce still pretends he's a cat or dog now. When we were at shawna's last year he "taught" her 2nd youngest how to be a cat too.. Fun times.. haha.
 
both my kids went through the dog phase. I just went along with it and even put down bowls of water on the floor for them. :D I would put a stop to leg licking though. :p
 
YESSSSSSSSS my daughter is a cat and my son is a dog! It drives me insane LOL But at least they don't shed :D
 
Yep, and it didn't stop with dogs. Cats, cows, horses, and right now, a rat. Yes, thank you Ratatouille my kid hops around the kitchen with her teeth stuck out asking for cheese.
And she's in 2nd grade for goodness sake!
 
I'm trying to remember if my older two did it.....not sure. My youngest hasn't (he's 5), but.......you girls will love this. He puts lipstick on......yes, I'm serious. He puts in on his lips and the outer parts. I'm at work or I would show you a picture. He puts it on because he's the Joker....you know, from Batman.

Cracks me up.
 
lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm sure I did it as a kid, but the licking and eating off the floor just drives me nuts!
 
YESSSSSSSSSS. Both of them do this. All of a sudden, Abby will drop to all fours and start meowing. Drives me batty. She also makes J into her little butler and bosses him around.
 
Yep, my kids pretend they are dogs ALL the time!! And Natalie pretend she's a mermaid in the bathtub - it used to be a fish or dolphin but then she watched The Little Mermaid, and so now she's "Ariel" during bathtime, lol.
 
All 3 of mine did! Of course they are 38, 36 and 24 now, but I remember it well, lol!! They did the whole barking, howling, panting (with tongue hanging out) and licking themselves, lol! A few of my DGC did it too and now my youngest DGS (17 months) has started the panting thing, imitating my newfie :)
 
yes!!!!!! mason did this last year when he was 4...drove me nuts! licking everyones hands and stuff. ewwww...LOL!!
 
Um.... yes. Derrick is going through a "baby" stage right now - probably because of Rhett. He's playing with his toys, not talking properly (babbling), etc. It's starting to drive me crazy!!!
 
My DD was an animal of what sort or another from about the age of 2 1/2 until 4. Seriously! I'd have to tell her before we went into storytime or tumblers or whatever "You need to be Lydia while we're here. They don't let doggies/kitties/lions come to storytime." It was crazy!
 
:D This cracks me up. We don't have dogs either-but they love to see them on tv and they're pretty scared of them irl! But I guess I should be happy that they don't do it in public(yet)!

LOL, my son acted like a dog at Blockbuster once. I was a tad embarrassed. :o
 
LOL! Just this morning one of my boys came into my bedroom slithering in as a snake! Some days one will be the dog and the other the owner, it's pretty funny stuff! Love their imaginations!
 
Jack growls at people. Not sure if he's being a dinosaur or a lion or what, but it's incredibly embarrassing to say, "this is my son, Jack" only to have him roar at them.
