Just curious. With the "When do you put up your tree" thread...how long do you leave it up? We usually leave ours up til New Years weekend, but last year we didn't take it down until almost Valentines! lol But, it was our first year w/a big tree. Before that, we just had a little 2-3 ft tree. So, we wanted to enjoy it longer! I don't think that'll happen again...it was ridiculous! lol Anyways, so how long do you leave your tree up?

Ours stays up through Epiphany. Other decorations may come down beforehand, but the creche and tree stay up til then - then we move to snowmen :)

January 6 - the end of the original 12 days of Christmas - where it's celebrating the arrival of the 3 Kings to see Jesus.

If my husband weren't so lazy about taking down the tree, we'd do the same as Darcy. The tree would be down after Epiphany (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphany_(holiday)) (aka Little Christmas). That was the tradition in my family when I was a kid as my Papou came from Greece and didn't celebrate Christmas until that day. Worked for me, I got two Christmases. ;)
As for when our tree actually comes down...May. Sigh.

Ours comes down sometime after New Years. Just depends on where we are/what we're doing.
I have a minor obsession with Snowmen, so I have a lot of christmas-y snowmen that stay up for longer. :)
It says up till around New Years. I cant stand to have it looking so bare with our presents

Umm it depends on when I get tired of all the needles falling!! :D Last year it was down shortly after New Years but that's because I was due with G-man and I didn't want to be undecorating with a babe attached to me!! :D But some years we have left it up till well into February!!!
ETA: it never comes down before New Years Day!!!

We usually take ours down around New Years but last year I think I had to take it down the day after Christmas cause Kyle wouldn't leave it alone! I have a feeling it's going to be much worse this year since he's 18 months old now and gets into everything!

Oh, just the usual. Sometime around NYE/first weekend in Jan. Jeff usually takes some time off then, but I will have to work NYE Day and part of NY Day, so it just depends on when he's feeling inspired. :)

Eek, in the past I've been really bad about taking our tree down LOL. Last year I took it down in a very timely fashion, just after Epiphany. I hope to continue that trend of getting down the the tree. It's embarrassing to have someone drop by and you tree still be up on St. Patricks day LOL. What can I say though, I really love Christmas :P!

last year I took it down really early (before christmas) because the cats kept climbing in it. They knocked alot of my ornaments out of the tree and broke some of them and they were chewing on the tree limbs (it was a fake tree) so I got tired of trying to fix it all the time and just took it down. This year I am doing a tabletop so itll probably stay up til new years day or Jan. 2nd

Probably the day after Christmas...although I've been known to take it down on Christmas itself. It looks so sad with nothing underneath, and with 3 cats, a dog, and a 3 yr old, we need the room for playing LOL.

LOL!! yup! By the time Christmas rolls around, I am so ready for everything to be "back to normal" and personally, I hate looking at the tree when it is so bare! So after the presents are opened and the day is celebrated, we take ALL of the decorations down!

This is what my mom has always done too. Christmas till Epiphany and then snowmen for January.
Last year our tree and outside lights were up until the end up January but that was because my DH was deployed and we waited to do Christmas until he came home. So I think we did Christmas on January 25th instead. This year it'll likely be right after New Years since my DH leaves for more training shortly after and well, having the tree up all January is kind of ridiculous under normal circumstances. :D

always come down New Year's Day. Although, if I go look out under my deck, I think my tree from two years ago is still under there. lmao Talk about a fire hazard. Might have to get rid of it with the pumpkins to the compost facility. lol

We have had an artificial tree for several years now. My husband is a Christmas nit! We light up the entire house and have the blow up thingies on the front lawn. They get turned on on Thanksgiving night. The tree usually goes up on Friday. So by the time Christmas comes around I am pretty sick of it all. So m tree comes down Christmas night, day after at the latest.
