just a little fyi...if you live in a rural area DON'T buy an LG phone..get motorola or nokia...

DH bought me an LG shine back in February and I have had nothing but problems with signal service since then...problems I never had with my Razr..I finally got tired of it and took my phone in yesterday b/c I can't risk NOT having cell service at this point in my pregnancy. The lady told me that LG's are notorious for bad signal service in rural areas...they run off a different frequency or something than motorolas or nokias do. So anyway..since I'm under contract all they would do is replace my current phone with the same phone which wouldn't do any good. So I ended up having to DOWN grade to one of the "free with contract" phones. UGH. and I loved my shine too, but I've had this new little phone for 2 days and have not lost service one time. I just wish I'd known this back in Feb and we wouldn't have paid 200 dollars for the LG! :cursing:

wow. That's strange because at my grandpa's house -- my LG was the only thing that did work. My mom's nokia and uncle's motorola wouldn't work.

I'm sorry though. You certainly don't need this now! :(

Im sorry!! My daughter has the same problem and while we do live in a somewhat rural area we have a cell tower basically just out our front door. (its through the woods and across some fields but you can see it clearly from my house) and she still loses service on her LG. She lost it on her previous one too. I find it irritating and think that they should have to do better then that if the phone is not working or they should tell the customers that if you live in a less populated area/rural area you should buy such and such a phone. For what it is worth though we have had motorola and nokia and lost service on all the phones in certain spots in the area we live.
