we made it!

Whew, what a long week it's been! We checked out of our house like planned 8:30 monday morning.... we had only a few places left to stop until dh was entirely ready to get out of there, but during his final stop of the outprocessing... someone else who was in the same office swiped all of his paperwork accidentally and walked off with it. So we waited around all day while they tried to contact this guy. We ended up having to stay in a hotel that night because they couldn't get this guy on the phone. We finally headed out about noon on tuesday-so of course we didn't get into ohio until 1:30 am wednesday=no voting for us But the girls were so awesome the whole time we were stuck in the car!! So far it's been nice to be back and see all our family! But man, it's freakin COLD!! And it snowed yesterday, which i love but I'm so not ready for. Georgia winters spoiled me(and our car apparently-took a few tries to get it started this morning lol.
I am having some serious withdrawals already!! I was surprised to see the forum still open, can't wait to see the new changes! Good news is, dh is already looking for some places :thumbup:
I've gotta get directions to dh's brothers house, but I just had to stop in and say hi and I miss you all!!!!!!!

I moved from Ft. Gordon to Ohio in January, so I can totally relate. Where are you in Ohio? Are you living here? or just visiting? I missed the backstory on this!

What - Lena, you were at Ft Gordon?! lol. We were only there about a year - October 2007 until just now. Dh had to have lung surgeries, but they messed him up quite a bit, so the army retired him(found him unfit for duty due to the problems he now has from the surgeries). He was hoping to retire from the army, just in about 16 more years. We're just moving home to Ohio so now we're looking for a place(staying with family til we find one) Right now I'm in Mt. Gilead. We're searching for a place around the shelby area- richland county. lol, that's so weird, I didn't know you were there, we must have been there at the same time!

glad it went smoothly! we were stationed at Ft Stewart for a few years and i LOVED it there. i really really miss Georgia. glad you got here okay! hope you find your own place soon; we lived with family when we first moved back here and i know it can be not so fun, lol.

I moved from Augusta to Ohio in the MONTH of January, not last january. Whoops!

My wasband got a medical discharge and ETSed on January 15, 2003. We came back here b/c here is home for him and close enough for me (my dad was military so there is no "home" for me).

so we moved to Ohio then.

I personally hated Augusta but for me, GA is just that way. My dad was stationed at Ft. Stewart twice. I fondly refer to GA as the armpit of Hell, making Augusta the lice that lives on the hair of the armpit of Hell.

Anyway, back on topic. I hope you enjoy Ohio! I'll have to look up where you are, I bet it's far away b/c I don't recognize it.
