I was just at Michael's, and I saw that the clear glass ornaments were 50% off. So I bought a set...the only problem, I don't know what to do with them. I am sure you ladies here have done some neat-o projects with them. So, please, guide me...what do I do?

I remember my mom put some of those plastic iridescent icicles in them and did a design with glitter paint on the ouside. Have you tried googling them to see what can be done?

Rub ons.
Strips of patterened paper (I prefer double sided) rolled tight together and stuck inside.

Here are things we've done with them in the past:
* fill them with small colorful candies
* Use a small glitter paint pen (or a paint pen and sprinkle glitter on top) and create snowflakes on the outside of the ornament. Small dainty snowflakes look wonderful.
*.Take small strips of patterned paper (used up a lot of old Christmas paper scrapbook supplies - but it would work with wrapping paper, too). roll them up on a pencil, then insert inside.l
* Use glittered paints and pour inside the ball. Just enough to have plenty to swirl around the inside. We used green/red/white and silver. Then turn upside down into egg cartons to allow them to drain and dry. These are my boys favorite ornaments and they ask for them to be put up first every year (to make sure there's enough room! LOL).

See I knew my friends here would have answers....
I have to say, I was going to try and paint them, but these ideas are great!
Traci...those are the bomb, and the grandparents would totally love them...I am also thinking that my co teachers would love them, too...with a picture of me of course. Come to think of it, everyone should PM me their address...I will send an ornament with my pic to everyone!! LOL:thumbup:
Also, I think it's official: I think that Ali Edwards' is creative genius...well her and everyone here, oh and Jessica Sprague...oh well...they all rock!

First thing I thought of doing was pouring some paint in them and rolling them around until the whole inside was coated. That cool pearlized or metallic paint would look neat.

I have put paint on the inside of them, then swirled it around for a real neat effect. We used green, red and gold for the colors.

I had pictures of some of our couple friends, printed them B&W, curled them a little and put them inside with a little of that wrapping curling ribbon (curled up). They were cute little (very inexpensive) gifts!
