OMG... scary!!!!

Our neighbors across and down 4 houses were ROBBED this morning. Whoever did it stole their car and took a bunch of stuff from their house. I don't know exactly what happened yet because I heard it from another neighbor. I hope I see one of them tomorrow so I can found out exactly what happened. We live in a pretty nice, quiet, older (people) neighborhood too!

I am sooooo calling an alarm company tomorrow and getting hooked up. I'm not taking any chances anymore. I am at home at least 3 nights a week with the kids since DH works and now I'm freakin' scared out of my mind!!!

Wow, Kat! How scary! We got an alarm system last year because I was just so uneasy about being home all alone with DH at work all night long (he works 7pm-5am). I feel a lot safer now, even if it is a bit of a false sense of security...

ETA: we have ADT and love them...

Omg how scary... I hope they catch the people who did it. I hope you can get some type of alarm to make you feel safer {{hugs}}

My DH will prolly start traveling a bit more and I am thinking I want one too....I can't image how scary that is and having it happen in YOUR neighborhood.....YIKES, I would def do it!!!

you know, you never really think much about it until something happens close to home. I'd be freaked out too!!! Every time I see the alarm company commercial where that guy is jogging, stops to tie his shoe as the husband backs out of the driveway and then the guy busts thru the front door, I get the chills!!!

I'm glad my husband is home every evening!

I totally know how you feel. We have had two burglaries in our little cul-de-sac in the past few months - one happened right across the street from us. I have been living in fear ever since. The burglaries in our neighborhood have been occurring in the middle of the day, so I am always scared to leave my house and worried to what I might come home to. We finally pulled the trigger 3 days ago and got a security system and I feel so much better now. It is kind of cool too because it uses the new GE On-Star-type technology. We have a medical, fire, and police button that we can press on the panel, which will automatically dispatch the help we need.

This is totally scary! One of my best friend's houses got broken into last spring. It was awful. She just felt yucky that someone else had obviously been through their things and touched everything! Not to mention not feeling safe in her own home. You want to feel that your house is your refuge.

Make sure you lock your doors and windows and don't open the door to anyone unless you are expecting them. And, make sure the door to your house from your garage is locked. That is how they got into my friend's house. Positive thought your way and hoping that it was an isolated incident!

holy crap! kat!! that is so freaky! HUGS!!!!

p.s. make sure you go with ADT they are the only alarm company in the world with amazing/what you would expect 24 hr. service.

Ugh that's SO scary!!
I want an alarm system, but Jordan is unconvinced. I just haaaaaaaaaaaaate being home by myself when he goes away for work.

WOW! That is scary! Now that we don't have a dog anymore I'm trying to convince DH to get an alarm system too but he won't go for it.

Oh that is so scary!!! We have Brinks... they are okay, but I want to switch to ADT. LOL That commercial freaks me out too, LuAnn.
