Sears does layaways now???

I kinda wish walmart had neveer gotten rid of them. That is how I always shopped for christmas. It helped keep my kids from being nosy/trying to sneak a peek and it helped me budget for stuff they wanted a little easier.

Sears only does it now cause they merged with K-mart. I have never used lay-a-way but that would be nice if more stores had it.

I saw somebody else posted but Sears and Kmart are owned by the same people now so I assume that's why they do it. I know especially in this economy that layaway makes some items more feasible and accessible. I loved it mainly for a storage issue lol..I just don't have the room to keep toys and stuff for 5 kids hidden very long...I miss walmart layaway. Our Kmart isn't very nice and the selection just isn't there or else I'd use them

I'm so happy they did this! we usuall scrounge around at the last minute for christmas gifts. we haven't done any yet this year. we'll probably be heading to sears on the first, lol. and kmart. oh, and TJMaxx does too! i reall ywish Walmart would, even if only for Christmas.

i think i'm going to start a christmas club account so next year we don't do this again, lol.

I saw a news report that a lot of major retailers were bringing back layaway this year so people could get more Christmas stuff. I think its a way to get sales. I know here Wal-Mart has layaway.

I think all stores should have layaway available Sept-Dec to help families budget for holiday shopping! Kudos to Sears & Kmart for being a friend to our money!!!

I got that same email a few days ago. I really miss Walmart's layaway too, I always used it because we have a small house & then I didn't have to worry about trying to hide the gifts and it was nice to split up paying for everything too! I checked out Kmart's layaway program but when I looked through their toy department they didn't even have half the toys my kids want this year and the ones they did have were more expensive. So I just ordered most of their stuff online from TRU and have hidden it away, although the girls were mighty curious about the boxes the day UPS delivered them lol!

the ones near us just smell old. Like they have been around for 50 years or more and some are fairly new like theyeve been built within the last 10 years or so maybe 15 tops
I'm curious... does everyone else's Kmart smell like curry powder and wet dog with a hint of sweaty socks and urine?
