I can breathe now, so now I can post about it (warning, it's LONG!)

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I have been a little less active on the boards and gallery the last couple of weeks. On 10/31 my husband got a layoff notice from his job that was to take effect this friday, 11/21. He's a jet engine mechanic, so he's pretty specialized as far as training and skills go, and there is no where else really in the area we live that he could work with the skills he has.

I was trying very hard to rest in the peace of God and not worry too much. I would occasionally try to get myself out of the funk and post on the boards and stuff but I haven't been making layouts like I normally do and I basically was in a funk I couldn't shake.

Fast forward to today, I got up this morning, the bank had LOST my paycheck and bounced 16 items and charged me $560 fees and all kinds of sinister stuff. Between that and worrying about my dh's job this morning I promise you I nearly lost it. I felt physically sick like I never have before.

The good news is, I heard from the bank that the processing center lost my check but that they KNOW it was at the branch yesterday so they know I did deposit it and they will find it, fix it, make it right, refund the fees...everything. It may take a day or two but she's working on it. Apparently several people's accounts were affected ...they gave me someone else's measley $26 deposit, lost my $3000 (which was my pay AND the pay for the girl that works for me) and apparently that's not all. So they have to fix everyone's acct that was affected, not just mine and it may take a day or so but she assured me I will get my money back and no fees, so I started breathing a tad easier.

THEN...my dh called...the company that is coming in to the base (Seymour Johnson Air force base, NC) to take over the contract that his company had, informed them all that they can keep their same job, same pay scale, everything, effective monday. So he won't miss a SINGLE day of work. God is so very very good and that is just such a blessing to my heart ...to SEE with my own eyes prayer answered that way. I know we don't always get what we "Want" when we pray and that God knows way better what we need than we do. I am just so glad He saw fit to orchestrate this like this. It was an opportunity to stretch my faith and I nearly failed. I got this far and didn't really feel like giving up until just the past few days. Yesterday and this morning were REALLY bad.

anyway I am sorry for rambling, I just wanted someone to tell and you guys are like family to me and I thought that maybe someone might have noticed I haven't been my usual chipper self. I just wanted to praise God and share the good news with ya'll :) maybe this means some layouts will get done today!!!

Yeah, I noticed you weren't around much...but neither have I been with having the flu, getting our new flooring installed, and preparing for Thanksgiving.
I haven't even scrapped a page this month, I don't think.
I'm so behind.
Anyway, I'm so glad that it all worked out for you guys and that Chad doesn't have to worry about finding a new job.
WHEW!!!!!!!!
Now you'll have something to be Thankful for next week! ;):p

Oh wow, I am so happy that things are working out for you. I'm not an overly religious person, but I have to admit that the times I've really prayed and needed something badly, those prayers were answered. Maybe not always in the way that I wanted them to be, but things worked out in the end.

*Big huggles to you*

That is wonderful news about your husband!!!! Praise G-d that He provided a way for your husband to continue working!

Ugh. Banks. can't say much about that- glad they're doing right by you!

Oh, honey! I got chills reading your story! DH almost lost his job this summer, so I can totally relate to feeling like you have no control.

I'm so happy that things worked out for your family.

God is so good!

I am SO glad things worked out so well for you Amy!! God really did answer your prayers in this entire situation didn't he?

Wow! What a month - and what a morning! I'm so glad that everything is working itself out and that your prayers have been answered. He always has an answer, it's just hard for us to be patient enough to let them come to pass. :) Patience is not a virtue of mine. :) Sit back and heave a great big sigh of relief today. :)

wow!!! God is good! what a happy ending...i am glad that you can have some peace in these trying times and what amazing news about DH's job!! HUGS!!

omigosh, what a rollercoaster of emotions  but so very glad it worked out OK in the end.

What a blessing!! So glad everything worked out for you and your family!
It's what I try to tell my DH - sometimes you have to put faith and a positive attitude that everything will work out for the best in the end....

Oh thank God! I'm so glad things are working out. I'm so sorry you had to deal with the bank mistake... that is so scary!

Oh, sweetie  I'm sorry you've had a hard time of it lately. Yes, I have noticed that you've been missing, and I MISS you!! I'm glad it appears to be working out, but do PM me if you ever need to talk!! :)

OMG, I can't imagine how worried you must have been the past few weeks and especially the past couple of days. I am so happy everything worked out for you in the end, but jeez, that's a lot of stress.

Im so glad it all worked out for you!! Glad your hubby got to keep his job. Things are tough out there right now. Ive had my fair share of messes with the banks. Once had almost 200 dollars in bounce fees for less then 15 dollars overdraws. I called the bank and even though the overdraws were my fault they agreed it was a little extreme to charge that much and cancelled every one of them!! I was pretty upset over that so I can only imagine how upset Id be if it was a 3000 dollar deposit lost AND over 500 in fees!!

Amy, tears actually came to my eyes when I read this. My life has been going the same way lately and I have placed my faith in the good Lord. For the first time in my life I just let go and prayed for help. And it is working. Things are working out. Your story just made my faith stronger. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am so happy for you.

Glad to hear things are working out for you!

When you go back to the bank, make sure they give you a letter stating that everything was there fault. If any of the checks/debits were returned and the person who you were paying gets wind, they may not want to take your form of payment anymore or they may charge you a fee. I worked at a bank for 8 years and have seen this type of thing plenty. If you have any questions PM me.

Aw, Amy, that's a lot of stress and anguish to go through. {{{{HUGS}}}} I'm so glad for you that it's all going to work out! :)
