Mornings....ugh...

So I hate mornings. I'm a teacher and I have to be on campus a 1/2 hour before the first bell. I leave for work at 7:00 am. I get my kids up at 6:00. The rule is, get dressed, eat, brush teeth, shoes, and then if time allows, TV. This morning I'm yelling at Annika who is not dressed at 6:50 to get dressed and Alex who doesn't have shoes on, but is watching TV. Alex flies up the stairs to get his backpack (which is supposed to be downstairs) and the next thing I know he's screaming, all while Annika is screaming in the bathroom about not wanting to put clothes on. I go to Alex who is dripping blood from his foot. When he went up the stairs, he lifted the carpet and stepped on the tack board and literally shredded his toes.

So I quickly look at him, then get on the phone with my school to tell them I'll be late and someone will have to cover my class. I then get Alex cleaned off, bandaged, call hubby, tell him that he'll need to come home and take Alex to the doctor for a tetnus shot.

It's finally calmed down here and I needed a break from the insanity which is why I'm posting before I head off to work.

Deep breath..... I think I can, I think I can, I think I can get through this day!

BTW- the boy is calm watching TV on the couch.

wow not a good start. Hope he feels better!! A few weeks ago I stepped on a thumbtack. It was one of those ones that are slightly flared on the end. It went into my sole and I could not get it out. I was screaming for my husband all while blood is dripping everywhere and he comes while I am holding onto the wall he is pulling and he could barely pull it out. It hurt sooo bad. Went in really easily but coming out was horrible. I was bawling as he was pulling it out. He was actually thinking he was going to have to get a pair of pliers!!
