I feel like a dumbie!

I bought the Penny Springman all worn out. Try as I may and even following her directions..i can not get it to work. Can you help me please????
I am getting lost with the magic wand/delete...

just put the overlay over the paper you want it on. With your magic wand tool just select OUTSIDE the overlay. I like to go go to Modify-Expand-1-2px depending on which overlay I'm using-then hit DELETE on your PAPER layer.

What program are you using? That is pretty universal for any program I believe but it's what I do in CS2

Dana, all I do with those is resize the canvas size of the overlay to 3600 x 3600 pixels (keeping the overlay in the center), drag the paper I want onto the overlay, then move it to the layer below the overlay. Select the overlay layer, click outside the overlay (blank area) and expand my selection by 2 pixels. Then I select the paper layer, delete and then merge visible.
Does that make sense?

Even easier, with the overlays from All Worn Out 2 - clip your paper to the paper layer already there and then merge visible
 
I don't have Penny's, but they probably work the same way as the ones I have. The trick is to use the magic want to select OUTSIDE the worn overlay with that layer active. THEN select the paper layer and click delete (or backspace). That's probably clear as mud. lol
