They stay up til the next round of GGG when designers may opt to go ahead and retire the product.

Shew....I'm glad that's not gonna change! I too have a few things in my sights for sweet rewards. Or hopefully sooner if somebody decides to do a black friday sale.....that sure would be nice. Hint, hint.
