DH was complaining of a UTI earlier in the week. i get these frequently so i went and got him some cranberry grape juice and told him to drink lots of water too. Friday night he started getting sharp pains in his abdomen. By early saturday morning he was in a lot of pain, so we get up, get the kids up (at 5 am) and drive the half an hour drive to Marion. He's a veteran so we have to take him to the VA hospital there. we get there and they do some tests on him but we have to wait on the results. and wait and wait. there isn't anything really for the kids to do here. they did have some crayons, but that is only entertaining for a 2 year old for so long. Chloe loves to color however so she was fine. Aidan was getting very restless. They have a big flat screen tv on the wall there which is usually turned to Fox news. the nurse was nice enough to change it to cartoons. we were the only ones there at the time. Aidan watched if for about 10 minutes then he was running off some more, playing with the water fountain then getting mad when his shirt was all wet. finally, just when i was about to go sit in the dang car, they call Chad's name. They think he possibly has a kidney stone. they give him some antibiotics and some pain meds and send him home, saying if he still feels a lot of pain in few days to come back and they'll do a CAT scan to see if he indeed has a kidney stone. so we go home. finally. then later on that evening, Chloe takes a bath. then we hear a crash. we have ceramic tile in there and its slippery when its wet. the rug was in the wash so i had laid a towel on the floor for her to step on. well, she still managed to slip and hit her head on the toilet. its a tiny bathroom so if you fall you're going to hit your head on something. i go in there and she has a half an inch long gash on her forhead above her right eyebrow, blood running down her face! i freak out, wipe it off a tad to get a better look (puke) and decide that thats too big a gash to cover with a band aid so i get her and Aidan dressed and head to the ER. they say its a very even cut so it didnt need stitches. they just use those little gluey strips and pull it closed. it'll heal faster than stitches and she won't have much of a scar. she did SO good. laid there like a little trooper and didnt cry. i'm so proud. she's usually a big puss when it comes to owies, lol. this is the biggest one she's had. so now, at school today she'll get to say that she slipped in our bathroom and hit her head on the toilet lol. i'll get picture of it and share later today.
so that was my exciting weekend. i pretty much spent most of saturday in a hospital setting lol. DH is still feeling bad, so we'll probably head back up to Marion sometime this week. i hate going up there. the kids are so restless and bored and its just not fun.
