Crazy Black Friday Idiots

OMGosh!! That's ridiculous!

My dh works for Frito Lay, and he was stocking at WalMart last night. He said people started lining up at 1am (ONE AM PEOPLE!!!), and they actually had police officers there.

Seriously, there is NO deal that good.

I totally agree Libby-no deal good enough...I think it has turned into some kind of sport.
I mean most of the stuff is stuff I wouldn't buy anyway...don't need for gifts, or whatever...I shop right here from my office most of the time.
I feel horrid for that persons family.

I agree I stayed at home in my bed! That's really crazy tho, my little brother worked at wal-mart last night through this morning. I'll have to ask him if anything crazy went on here. That just scares me because that could have been any employee. I feel so sorry for the family.

there are no words. can you imagine dying from people stomping on you!? completely maddening! what a way to start out the holiday season. breaks my heart.

That's awful. I almost can't believe it actually happened- it should be from some weird horror movie, not real life. You know what? I wish that there was a way to find every single person who trampled that man and hold them all accountable. Charge them with manslaughter because that's exactly what it was. What a sick world we live in that folks could be so greedy. More worried about buying more crap we don't need and that "I'm gonna get mine" attitude rather than taking one second to consider another human being.
Oh my gosh, this just really burns me up. I can't imagine the pain this person's family must be going through :(

That is just awful! That's the trouble with "mobs". I'm sure those people did not intentionally trample the man, it's just the mob gets pushing from behind and there's no way you can stop! Still, it's horrible that it should have come to that - that people can't be civil enough to just wait their turn.

Stories like that are the reason I refuse to leave my home on Black Friday. I worked retail for 10 years, even with my discount NO sale is worth the insanity that is today. I refuse to add to the stress that the workers are dealing with by shopping anywhere but online.

My heart goes out to the family of this person. Just heartbreaking.

I just read about that on another board. No sale is worth all that. What in the world were people so desperate to buy that they had to trample an employee to get to??? Seems every year you hear about someone being hurt from a BF incident.

So sad. :(

That is just awful! I ran across a few rude obnoxious people at Walmart this am but for the most part people were not that way thank goodness! I agree no deal is worth losing your life or taking another's!

More worried about buying more crap we don't need and that "I'm gonna get mine" attitude rather than taking one second to consider another human being.

Ya know this is dead on.
DH and I have been talking about retiring out of the country and are actually taking a trip to Honduras in May/June to look around and do some research. Honestly, life is so precious and more important than what we think here in America. We have it so good here that our biggest worries are something so stupid as to the best Christmas bargains.
Christmas is about Christ's birth and every year things just get more and more commercialized. All the while there are children in 3rd world countries abandoned on the streets and left to fend for themselves, no food, no clothing, no family.
It just makes me sick sometimes.

[/end soapbox rant]

Seriously, what kind of mentality does it take to trample over someone? even in a mob, you would think some people would at least look down to see what the heck they are stepping on and over & would try to help him.

OMG! That just makes me want to cry and scream all at the same time! That is terrible! I just don't understand people anymore! There is nothing in WalMart or any other store that is worth robbing someone of their life. I feel so sorry for the family of this person. Senseless...

My friend works for Best Buy and they started lining up on Monday!!!!!! Who has 5 days to accomplish nothing? I feel so bad for that employee and family. Walmart needs to get a better system or something, because our Walmart had problems last year with knife fights and stuff. The Best Buy and Targets around here are really organized with voucher systems and only allowing so many people into the store at a time. It's just getting too insane.

That is seriously beyond crazy. I can't imagine not stopping to help when you start STEPPING on someone??? Hello? So sad.

That's terrible. What a story.

Our Best Buy had people start lining up on Monday, too. Weirdos.

I went out this morning and maybe its just my area, but everyone was really nice. One lady I was talking to even held my place in line while I ran to get something I thought was all out, but she had saw. :)
