I went to see it, like you, to humor dh. It was ok. I thought there was less of the things the seem typical 'Bond'. Not a lot of sexy stuff, no fun tech gadgets and Bond doesn't have that cocky, cavalier, cad-like attitude that I've come to expect. He is more of a bitter, dark hero. There are a lot of chase and fighting scenes. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the film editing during the chase scene. They switched camera angles so much I couldn't keep up or even tell exactly who he was chasing.
The plot is somewhat interesting and I found the villains intriguing. I pretty much went not-expecting much and ... well, that's what I got.
