oranges and more oranges

My husband found this ad online for oranges you can pick yourself for five dollars a bushel. We debated on whether we wanted to go and pick them or not but decided to do it. He loves oranges (I can live without them but Ill eat one occasionally). Well we get down there and start picking and ended up getting tangelos, tangerines and navel oranges. Three five gallon containers full of them. I bet we probably have 200 oranges right now. Im not sure what we are going to do with them all though LOL. I took some over to my best friend and he said he's gonna take some over to the neighbors. I told him he should take them to work and sell them for like a quarter a piece!!

LOL that is true. Just the smell would clear your sinuses. Oh I took a picture at the orange grove. It is so pretty. Im gonna upload it real quick

Here is a picture of the orange grove. Oh it is so pretty out in that area. Where I live it is totally flat as is much of FLorida. Out towards the west coast of Florida it starts getting really hilly. The houses are gorgeous!! The yards are all gorgeous. It was only about an hour west of where we live now. I told my husband I would love to live there. I wish that I could upload the scent too. We used to have orange groves just a road over from us but they tore them all down to build homes. I miss that smell.

Oh how cool! I don't know if they'd last, but you could make up some cute basket filled with them for Cmas presents! :)

If I knew how to pack them so theyd still be good Id send you a couple Lizzy. I think they are so much better straight off the tree then when you get them from the grocery store. We are going back next month sometime to pick some honeybells and then again when the strawberries ripen. They are going to be about 2 dollars a pound there.

Now's the time to invest in a juicer.
Fresh orange juice, fresh Orange Julius and fresh screwdrivers, baby! LOL

Oh I miss the groves. When we built our house we were surrounded by them and now a developer came in and started putting up houses. I love the smell they fill the air with.

You can make one of those nice smelly Christmas things. You take an orange, and you push a ton of cloves into it, and hang it. It actually smells pretty good.
