Give me the scoop on Bakugans

My son talks non stop about Bakugans....Do any of you have them? Do you recommend them? Thanks!

They seem really cool, but I don't want to spend the $ if they don't keep the kiddos attention.

OMG, I have no clue about Bakugan, BUUUT, my daughter is really into it, lol...she "plays" it almost nonstop, with hockey cards, lol.

My daughter talks about them all the time and they like to trade them at school I guess. I am giving her 3 of them for Christmas but I am NOT going to let her trade them! LOL

I got a 3 pack last month for $12. I dunno if it's a deal or not, but it was WalMart and usually their prices are pretty good so I didn't question it.

I have NEVER heard of this before now so I am no help....all I know is that we went through the whole Pokemon card thing for a really long time so if they are as popular it would be a good thing I would assume!!!

LOL. My 6 yo son is really into them and we just figured out how to "play" the official way yesterday. Each player puts one of their Bakugan cards out in the playing area (floor), then you take turns rolling the Bakugan balls at the cards. If they open up on the cards (the metal in the cards opens the magnets somehow), you can win the cards. Or if each player has a ball that opens on the same card, there's a battle (no fighting -- you just count up the number of points on the ball plus the amount for that type of ball that's written on the card). It's actually kinda good math practice! The downside is that it's tough to get the balls to really roll onto and open on the card -- we had to basically just nudge them onto the cards -- kinda cheating to get it to work. Still, my son loves to play with the stuff even without playing the real game. Anyhow, to play the official game, you need at least 6 cards and 6 Bakugans.

My son just turned 7, he's never been one to play with toys like other boys with cars and such. He DOES love his Bakugan though and plays with them a lot, takes them to school and trades people (not sure what that is about).

My DS loves them too but since they are magnetic I think he has lost some under furniture and whatnot to them sticking there...

We are getting him the Battle Arena and a few more of the balls for Christmas.

My son asked for some for Christmas and I am so glad that I bought them a few weeks ago because it looks like the prices are really inflated right now because of high demand. In case you wanted to compare prices, I bought the Bakugan Battle Brawlers Mega Pack (comes with 6-pack) at Target a few weeks ago at for $20. I know the 3-pack starter kits were $10 at Target and Walmart. Unfortunately, our local stores are all out of stock (I went back to get some for my daughters too, and they were all gone.)
