Do you have conspiracy theory tendencies?

I have NO IDEA why this popped up in my head today.

Just curious to hear if you have any conspiracy theories. I think they are funny and interesting.

well, don't know if I have any conspiracy theories... but I do know this....

The Men in Black do exist.....

bwuahhahahahahahhahahaha

I don't think Britney Spears was "in trouble" or if she was, it was allowed to get out of hand for the sake of publicity.

My ex-MIL was HILARIOUS with her theories... she swears to God that the vapor trails behind jets are laced with chemicals that cause cancer in order for the government to cull the population of Earth.

She thought JFK's assassination was fake.

Geez, I wish I could remember more.

Nope. I'm way too stupid to think up conspiracy theories.

I'm sure Jeff could give you plenty, though.

not really... I've heard lots of them tho! I have a friend who thinks everything is a conspiracy lol

Why am I not surprised by this? ;)

Whatcha tryin to say??

Most of mine have to do with government cover ups surrounding the Iraq war, 9/11 etc. All of them are substantiated with proof, etc that the main stream media does not cover..yadda yadda. :)

And now I am even more intrigued...........

I'm not really a conspiracy theorist. I find them fascinating, though. I can't help but be curious and fascinated soley based on how fervently those who subscribe to the theories believe they are true.

I suppose you could argue that every conspiracy theory is based on a measure of "truth", therefore it becomes a matter of how you view the "evidence". Some theories probably hit close to the actual empirical truth, while others play on what people *want* to believe and natural skepticism. I think it's important for anyone drawn to conspiracy theories to look at things with a critical eye and consider all evidence.

This is true, and I think the same goes for anything that is largely put out there as "truth". WE are lied to just as often as we are told the truth, how often do you see media "retracting" things? Or even worse, nowadays they just change their stories without retracting. Everyone who is interested should look at ALL points of view, conspiracy or supposed truth before deciding what to believe IMO

see that's the thing. you *think* they are real. bwahahahahahahaha!!!

I don't find you very funny today Lizzy :P

and you *think* what is put out there as truth is real...without knowing all sides and the facts yourself..what's the difference?

I concur. Well said. :)

I think some of them are quite stupid. Like we never walked on the moon or the events which occurred on 9/11 were conspired by the US government or there was no plane flown into the pentagon on that day. I suppose there could be some truth to SOME of the billions of conspiracy theories that are thought up everyday but I just have a hard time believeing most of them

Hubby brought home some videos recently about 9/11 and WOW. Definitely something to think about.

Well, after this discussion, mine is silly:

I believe that there is a conspiracy among experienced parents to NOT tell new parents that it's not the terrible twos you should fear... THREE is FAR worse!

I don't think JFK Jr and wife died in a plane crash. He was just about to reach Presidential Candidate age and the pressure would have been overwhelming for him to run... which... he said time and time again he had no interest in politics.

I think they disappeared and are living it up, paparazzi free.

Things that make you go hmm...according to postsecret there are a lot of people that decided to leave their pre-9/11 lives behind and start over, letting their family and friends believe they were dead.

I can come up with a conspiracy theory about anything. I'm good at connecting the dots though not necessarily in any true way, I'm just good at making up stories if given a few facts.
I love conspiracy theories but I don't believe 99% of them for the simple reason that generally they involve a secret and more than one person. There is an old saying that 2 people can keep a secret if one of them is dead. I just find it impossible to believe theories that 'the government' or 'big business' is hiding something because there are just too many people involved and the internet to share the information.

But see the information is shared..there's even been books written by cabinet members who stepped down..etc

Ah weel, we'll never know till we do :)

I LOVE this theory! No one ever tell me it's false, cause it's what I'm going with from now on.
