I am using a VIsta Print template to make my holiday cards. The color profile is in CMYK. It looks fine in PS but horrible when I view it outside of PS. Is that normal?

I'm no expert - but I think its because CMYK is for print color and RGB is on-screen... so your external viewers are trying to see it as RGB. As long as the color looks great in your PS preview, then I wouldn't worry about it.
