If any of you remember the skidoo accident I was in last Dec 25, and how I couldn't move my arm and I *still* can't straighten it...
Well, for those that don't, I'll tell you a funny story. We went up to DH's sister's place for the winter break last year - got up there Dec 24. My BIL had just gotten this big powerful skidoo and DH took it out for a spin while I was getting the kids ready and heading out the door. Now, I've never driven one and didn't know that this was a big powerful skidoo, lol...so I hopped on and promptly lost control of it in the field behind the house. It was WAY too big for me and eventually I tried to crank it to turn or I was going to run directly into a big row of hay bales. But I leaned the wrong way (trying to force the skis to turn, I put all my weight on the opposite side of the direction I wanted to turn), it caught a drift and it threw me off - straight into those bales. I held out my arm to try to cushion the hit, and I jarred my arm, landed in the snow and the skidoo landed on top of my leg. My leg was fine - just majorly bruised...there was lots of snow so the weight of the machine just pushed it into the snow deeper. But I couldn't move my arm at all for like a week, and it slowly was getting better, but I still wasn't able to fully extend my arm without pain in my elbow.
SO, I finally went to the chiropractor and asked him if he could fix it. He ordered an x-ray to be sure it wasn't broken - if it was, he wouldn't be able to fix it and I'd likely have to have it rebroken (since it's been almost a year since I hurt it in the first place, it would have healed wrong) by a doctor to set it right. I got the results of that x-ray, and it looks like the arm was never broken - yay! He figures he'll be able to fix it with massage and some other work.
It'll be SO nice to be able to use my right arm again for things that I took for granted before! I'm right handed so I use that arm ALL the time, but right now I can't even BOWL, lol. When it first happened, I couldn't do up the zippers on the kids' coats, I couldn't give hugs...it sucked!
