So I just got my Artscow books and I totally messed up.

I guess I don't get how to do the bleed thing. Every single one of my pages is cut off. Lots of journaling lost, dates gone, paper layers gone, etc. It's baaaaaad. :thumbdown:

I had planned to use them as gifts but can't now. I want to redo, but don't know how. Ideas???
 
awww, jennifer! I'm so sorry! That totally sucks! Thats one reason why I only use Shutterfly for my photobooks. Because you can see in the preview exactly how its going to look when printed so you can adjust for cut-off. I'm too lazy to try the other sites. Less work = happier Jenny. lol
 
Oh man, that sucks!

I add a 1/4 inch border to mine (so the page is 8.25, my regular 8 in layout in the middle with a border that is the same color as whatever I used as my layout background)

Ok, so when you're looking at it you see the LO in the middle and then the shaded bleed area all around, right? Do you only want your LO in the middle? Not in the bleed area? Or do you want your LO all the way to the edge of the actually page?

I wanna cry. I've only used Shutterfly before, too, but I wanted to try something cheaper this year...
 
I know on MPT, I wanted my layout in the exact center, and I made my backgrounds 12.25, with the extra 1/4 inch exactly all around my LO...

like I said, I made an action for it, I'll probably make an 8.25 action as well, if you want that one, PM me.

I'm so sorry about your books!!
You definitely don't want any journaling near edges!

You want your LO in the bleed area too hon. I learned that one the hard way as well. I'm sorry. :(
 
I just got two books from them and I made sure nothing important was in that gray area and nothing of mine got cut off. When I made the book that is what I assumed that you wanted the LO (background only) to go into the gray but it was only so you wouldn't get white edges.

I got an Artscow book, too, and it turned out great, but the pages are numbered. How the heck do I not get them numbered?

Aww sorry it didn't work girl.

Printed books scare me! That's going to be my NY's resolution next year. Conquer the fear of books and printing!
 
This is why I never print anything. I don't have the brain power for all of it LOL.

Sorry that happened Jennifer, hopefully you can figure it out and reorder!

I think they might have changed it because I just made 2 books like a week ago and I had this at the very bottom of the "book maker" page wher it says "messages" (the box circled in red) and it turned off all my page numbers

Out of the six books I ordered, two of them had crappy covers and I noticed it was because I had the canvas exactly on the greyed bleed area.
