So today I decided to take some pictures of my daughter and our dog to send out with our christmas card. Wow, is it getting very hard to stage pictures now that Meri is a toddler. She totally wasn't really into it. But still managed to get some cute/funny shots. Just thought I'd share:

Oh and I hope to get back to scrapping in the New Year. Right now I'm up to my eyeballs in a portrait commission that I am working on. And then Christmas preparations. I just haven't been in the mood much nor had the time. Hopefully that will change once the holidays pass! I have SOOOO many photos to scrap!

These are so adorable! She is a dollbaby. And the dog looks like a real sweetie too!

sooo cute!! I love the butt pic of the little one getting on the chair hehe...

I love this one too

omg so cute! Those are too much fun! I think the last one is my favourite. I've done Santa hats on my dogs (& cats) but never the beard... I need one!

I think toddlers are harder than the dogs to stage photos of. My niece loves to be pretty much impossible the second she knows I want to take pics.

I thought it was just mine. Everytime my niece(who will be 2 on the 20th) sees the camera, she either turns and runs or sticks her face right in front of the lens. Either way you get crappy pics!

These are too precious tho! I'm amazed the dog didn't try to chew that beard off. I love her dress and piggy tails too!

those are super cute! what lens are you using?
and what's your lighting setup? are you using softboxes on both sides or just one? it just looks a little darker on the right.

I don't know how you do it, my toddler is impossible to take pictures, he throws a tantrum that he wants my camera!

lol, I found the hat/beard at target! As soon as I saw it sitting on the rack, I knew I had to torture my dog this year! It was only 4.99! It actually stayed on pretty well too!

Well, my setup is a king sized sheet draped over a bookcase. The lighting behind are the two windows in her room. It was really the only place to set it up and be able to get back far enough to get them both in the picture as I was using my 50mm f1.8 lens. I love it and have a hard time sacrificing the quality of my 50mm for my regular 18mm-70mm lens(so I don't have to worry about getting them both in the picture).

Yeah, toddlerhood is definitely challenging my photography skills! lol

LOL!!! Your dog does NOT look amused :p Love the look he is giving her in the last one...shifting his eyes to the treat...too cute ;)

He definitely was not amused but willing to put up with me for the dried turkey hearts(the way to a dogs soul...aka...doggie crack)!
