not sure if this is true but always better to be safe than sorry................

e-mail reads:

My daughter just called to tell me one of her co workers DH works on computers for a company in Texas and said there is some virus out on Facebook and no one can seem to find it! These guys sure are getting trickier all the time. I know our computer started acting weird the other day after we were on there so not sure if it's coincidence or not. I never DL'd or opened anything from there soooo...BE CAREFUL

ok i looked into this because that is the most vague virus warning email ever.... heres where you should look if you are worried about facebook and viruses:

http://www.facebook.com/security

Basically a good rule of thumb is don't download things from sites you aren't familiar with, i don't care if it is calling it a software update or a security check or what.... but the virus that I see facebook talking about about isn't FROM face book but instead it is a message you get in facebook to check out a video, then you click that link, it takes you to an outside site and then it asks you to update your flash player or something...

here's more info about that:

as a basic rule you CANNOT get a virus with out downloading it... so if like they said in that email, they hadn't downloaded anything then they didn't just magically end up with a virus.
