I Need Some *Sweet* Help - NEW QUESTION P.5

from you SSD girls! K, we are now 3 weeks from this baby possibly making her appearance and we are still no closer to having a first name! I'm starting to worry. Her middle name is Francesca (after my great-grandmother), but we can't settle on a first name. My one true love name - Emma - that just clicked so well with Francesca was snatched by my brother and his wife back in February :thumbdown: Since then, nothing has struck me as "that is it!"

FYI I've loved the name Emma Francesca for like 7 years, but only DH and and I discussed it, as we had a boy the first time, so it was really a non-issue. However, now I wished I would have said something so my brother wouldn't have used it! :cursing:

So, give me your favorite girl names. I need some inspiration or this baby might just end up as "Baby" Francesca. :p

what about names similar or do you just hate em cause they remind you of Emma?

Ooooh! Girl names!! Since I only have boys, I have a whole bunch of girl names saved up! lol

Since Emma is a bit of an "old-fashioned" sounding name, here are a few others that I think sound good with Francesca...

Aww, Emma was my grandma's name and was definitely my choice for a girl if we'd decided to have kids. If it's any consolation, though, Emma and Emily have topped the most common name lists in recent years, so she might have had a lot of other Emmas in her age range.

I like Ella or Ava and they are similar enough to have that same "ring" to them... Plus Ava is my Marley's middle name so I'm partial! :) Good luck!

DH loves the name Zoe! That's in his top 5. I had forgotten about Sophia! It was on my list, but DS carried it off somewhere and lost it. LOL

We really like Avery, but we have an 11 year old nephew that we literally see 3 times a month and he would die of embarrassment if we named his girl cousin after him. LOL

Oh! And if you ask my little boy what his sister's name, he says it's Isabella. I love that one too. However, do you think it's freaky that I LOVE Twilight and then my baby girl is inadvertently named after the main character?:p

How do you pronounce Isla? That one is intriguing me.

I really thought about Ella for a long time because it's another one of my favorites, but then I worried that it was too similar to Emma and my brother or SIL would think I was trying to be like them, but just off a litte. I worry too much!
 
Also love Claire and Ava, but we have 2 good friends that each just used those names for their new daughters. Stop the insanity!

you hit the nail on the head. you are worrying too much. this is YOUR daughters name and you have to love it for her FOR-EVER. pick what you and DH want and don't worry about what other people think/say. and if you get any lip let them know that lizzy will be knockin on their door for a little 'talk'.
