So, I read the first three Twilight books before seeing the movie, then the last book after the movie. Now, in my mind, I picture all the characters like the actors in the movie.

Just curious if I'm the only one who now can't picture them any other way?? Does anyone still see them differently from the actors even after seeing the movie? Inquiring minds want to know.

I haven't seen the movie yet (hopefully at the end of the month with Jordan's mom after she reads it), but I almost ALWAYS disagree with who plays the character in the movie. It very rarely matches with what I "see" in my head when I read. Normally the image in my head is what stays with me, even after I see the movie.

I know from the pics I've seen that I def don't like who they picked for Carlisle and Esme.

when i started Twilight, i hadn't heard of the movie plans yet. but when they started talking about the actors to play the parts, then yah, i started visioning them in my head as the actors that played them. but also, the actors really resemble how i pictured them in my head anyway. its wierd. maybe i'm psychic...lol

i haven't seen the movie yet. i was planning on going with my mom, but i may just wait. idk.

I totally agree about Carlisle and Esme, really wanted someone way more attractive for Carlisle, especially the way Bella describes him, and I guess someone more provincial for Esme.....Alice was perfect, and I don't know why they couldn' use the real hair of the actors for Jason and Emmett, they would have looked so much better.

I didn't picture Carlisle like he was in the movie but he wasn't so bad once I saw him on the big screen. Esme wasn't what I pictured either but she comes across so motherly and warm in the movie that I don't mind at all. I like her.
Emmett was close to what I pictured, yet not. Rosalie was better in the movie than what I pictured her. She was SO radiant when I first saw her in the movie.
Alice was PERFECTLY cast. The only thing was that I pictured her in my mind with shorter, more spikey hair.
Jasper and Jacob were Wayyyy freakin hotter in the movie than what I pictured in my head, but the actor for Jasper really isnt that hot in real life. Wierd, huh?

I didn't really like Bella in the movie, though she was believable, she just overacted a bit, seems. Edward was good, but not as studly as I dreamed. R.Pattz did a heckuva job being hot in some scenes, but Edward isn't just hot, he's strong and intelligent (not so much in the movies).

But yeah, I see them in my head now as the actors, and not what I dreamed.

yeah, I don't get why they make Carlisle looks so icky in the movie. I've seen pictures of the actor and he's really good looking.

I don't like any of the casting of Twilight, so I still picture them how I imagined them when I read the books.

I saw the original movie trailer (back in June I think) first and that was what finally got me interested in reading the books. So I already pictured Rob & Kristen in my mind as Edward & Bella (as well as most of the other actors) when I read the books in July.

You are not alone Dawn.. I think of the actors when I am reading the book. I didn't see the movie yet but I can't help but think of how the actors look when I am reading the book.

Most of them I picture as the actors now, but I can't get past what I thought Carlisle, Charlie and Jasper looked like in my head. I still think of them the way I read it.

You know how I can go foreven on how ewww I think the cast is (Alice is the exception)... so no, I don't imagine the book characters as in the movie... well I do Alice now.

I read the first book, then watched the movie
telling you the truth - I am disappointed with Edward cast - from what I've read in the first book and go through the 4th, I imagine Edward was more mature, smart, passionate, loving and remarkably handsome ...
And Bella - she's nicely shape :D but not the same with my imagination of her
And one more thing of my disappointment is ... their love, strong bonding, was never reflected so good in the movie ...
their love in the movie is just like another teenager love, no good reason for Bella to sacrifice her mortal life for Edward - not the same as what was reflected in the book.

But I agree with everyone, Alice is the best cast here ;)

I agree that they could have done a lot better with the casting too -- particularly Edward. Still, I can't separate his character from the actor now!

I didn't start reading the books until after I saw some of the characters from the movies so I kinda always pictured them that way.

My biggest disappointment was Carlise. His greased back hair just seemed too fake. I also pictures Victoria with more red hair than orange. Especially after the second book.

I saw the movie first, then read the books, so I picture the actors. Which is fine with me cause I just LOVVVVVED Edward in the movie. I loved how he played the character. So I like seeing him as I read the books (smitten).

Smitten is a good word. I don't even think he's "right" for the part, and I'm still smitten because he has become Edward for me. I do love his voice.

Maybe it's the way we have to do it if a novel made into a movie ... you have to see the movie first LOL ...
I have something from a blog that may help to represent why everyone, gals, woman, old, young are in love with Edward:

normal guys vs Edward Cullen

A normal guy would say: “I love you Baby!”
Edward Cullen would say: “You are my life now.”

Normal Guy would say: “I think I am falling for you.”
Edward Cullen would say: “The Lion fell in Love with the Lamb”

Normal Guy would say: “You hair looks like a haystack; go brush it!”
Edward Cullen would say: “Your hair looks like a haystack but I like it.”

A normal guy would pick a random song from a random artist and dedicate it to you.
Edward Cullen would sing you a song he wrote for you while playing the piano.

If you die, a normal guy would find another.
If you die, Edward would kill himself cause life without you isn’t worth living.

“Well, I wasn’t going to live without you..” He rolled his eyes as if that fact were childishly obvious. “..but I wasn’t sure how to do it. I knew Emmet and Jasper would never help so I was thinking maybe I would go to Italy and do something to provoke the Volturi.”

As you leave the house, a normal guy would say: “Bye, see ya!”
As you leave the house Edward Cullen would say: “Come back to me, love.”

He smiled my favorite smile. “Hurry back to me.”
“Always.”

As you come back to the house, a normal guy would be watching TV and wouldn’t even notice.
As you come back to the house, Edward Cullen would be welcoming you by playing the piano with a song just for you.

“I heard the music before I was out of the car. Edward hadn’t touched his piano since the night Alice left. Now, as I shut the door, I heard the song morph through a bridge and change into my lullaby. Edward was welcoming me home.’

A normal guy would wait for you to make him breakfast.
Edward Cullen would make you breakfast everyday.

While you are both out for dinner, a normal guy wouldn’t keep his eyes off the sexy waitress.
Edward Cullen wouldn’t even notice the waitress was a female.

A normal guy, while driving, would keep one hand on the wheel and one hand on the radio.
Edward Cullen, while driving, would keep one hand on the wheel and the other attached to yours.

While far apart in different places, a normal guy would say: “I miss you.”
While far apart in different places, Edward Cullen would say: “It’s like you’ve taken half myself with you”

A normal guy wouldn’t care or notice if you had nightmares.
Edward Cullen would sing until your nightmares went away.
“Do you want me to sing to you? I’ll sing all night if it will keep the bad dreams away.”

A normal guy does it with everyone.
Edward Cullen only does it with one.

A normal guy buys you flowers and chocolates.
Edward Cullen buys you a car. (THE BEST PART! HAHA!)
