we've got septic problems. i think. we had our tank pumped last month. for the last couple weeks or so, our toilet has not been flushing properly. you have to plunge it a gazillion times to get it to go down. now, for the last couple of days, the tub takes forever to drain and when the washer drains, it backs up into the tub and also leaks out under the bathroom sink. when i ran the dishwasher today, i don't think it backed up. so we got some drain clog stuff and tried that. still not working. we can't afford anything major going wrong. we have no savings. i'm afraid to call anyone to look. if it is something major we are screwed. i hate this house. i didnt want it in the first place. it was a repo and DH opted not to have an inspection done on it. it was sold as is. i wish i had talked him into getting one. cause if we had been told all the things that were wrong with it i would not have agreed to buy it. now we are stuck.
we'll probably call someone to come out and look at it, and hope its just a clog in the vicinity of the bathroom/laundry room. that we can afford to fix. but if its something major, we are totally screwed.

i hate this house. i want to move and get my dreamhouse :(

Yeah, that doesn't sound good. I think you're going to have to find a way ... you don't want to have septic stuff backing up. I had it happen in my first apartment and it backed up into my tub and also the floor of my laundry room. It had to do with frozen pipes in the ground drain field or something like that. "Luckily" it was my landlord's problem not mine, but it would have been a much bigger mess had it been ignored.

HUGS!

oh man! Septic problems are not fun. You can buy or rent the big 'snakes' the plumbers use and try and snake each area yourself. It might be an easy to remove blockage & if it isn't you can at least let the plumber know where to start.

I live in fear of pipe problems because 75% of the pipes in the house are set in concrete & if there is some significant problem, we have to jackhammer open the floor.

we have one of those snakes. DH just keeps saying "i don't know anything about pipes. blah blah blah" it just all confuses me. the tub will sometimes drain okay and occasionally the toilet will flush just fine. so i don't know what the problem is. we already know that the plumbing in this house is horrible. we already paid 2 grand last summer to fix a bunch of electrical. plumbing was going to be next. i just want to get away from this house. the county can have it, lol.

Tell DH To friggen suck it up and get the snake down there! My goodness! That might fix it and could save you a ton of money!!

We had the same exact thing happen to us in September. They came and snaked it and there was a HUGE clog. My stinkin kids were flushing their dental floss and paper towels down the toilet. :cursing:
