OMG! Yes!
Their commercial comes on at least once a night, and I point out every time that I would LOVE to get one of those. FI keeps the house so cold so I always have a blanket on, but it's impossible to play on the laptop with a regular ol' blanket.

You know, that is awesome!! I might have to get me one of those.

Oh goodness, my friends and I make fun of this EVERY time one of us sees the commercial.
Got a robe? Put it on backwards! Now it's a snuggie. :D

I get at least 2-3 spam emails per day about that stupid blanket lol!

OMG my six-year-old son has been BEGGING for one of these! He loves blankets and is always cold (perhaps because he sheds his clothing as soon as he gets home from school). I think its ugly and looks dumb, but I'm sure its really warm!
LeeAndra
12-10-2008, 01:36 PM
But I don't have a robe, Col! And my gurls are so big that I'd have to get the robe extra big to cover them up and then the sleeves would be hanging off my hands and make it hard to use the computer!
So there. :p

The snuggie is HUGE! It'll end up hanging off your hands anyway.
Blankets are NOT that difficult people! LOL!

Years ago, my mom had a sleeping bag type deal that had snaps so you could create sleeves. That thing seriously rocked the casbah.

DH and I laugh our butts off at that. It's completely ridiculous. It's a backwards robe. >.<

12-10-2008, 01:46 PM
OMG, you are a dork! DH & I keep joking with eachother that we are getting these for one another. THey are so dorky looking! Thanks for the laugh!

LOL! Too funny! I usually just wear my cozy robe and fuzzy slipper socks and I am good to go!
Jennilyn
12-10-2008, 01:48 PM
Why not just get a really comfy robe/night gown?
kscwgirl
12-10-2008, 01:51 PM
I have seen those before too. I sort of want one. Blankets are hard to control with the laptop plus my kids steal them. LOL I'm always cold though.

Just last night when the commercial came on, DH and I chuckled at how ridiculous it was...sorry!! I guess I'm more of a blanket and robe girl or a nice sweater or something.

To keep wrapped around me, yes. :p
You need a bigger blanket. And why does it have to be wrapped?
Drape blanket over legs, place laptop on top. SIMPLE!

My heart really went out to that poor woman struggling with her blanket.

Oh if you could only see me. I have the same problems. It really is sad.

Col, I'm with you 100%. When Cameron said he wanted that blanket, Jeff later suggested that we get it for him for x-mas. The conversation went something like this...
Jeff: we should get that snuggle thing for Cam
Me: or... he could just use a blanket
Jeff: but he's always cold
Me: I know, but thats what blankets are for
Jeff: but this one covers your whole body
Me: Yeah, so does a blanket if you use is properly
Jeff: so we're not getting him the blanket thing?
Me: nope.

I just showed the video to Henry b/c i was curious what he'd say about it. Halfway through he said, "it's just like a robe."
There's also the 3-in-1 Softie Wrap (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=111386).

The backwards robe would actually work, Snarky Col. A regular blanket does not, however. You can't make it stay up to your chin without holding it there or being forced to tuck it around you and then pressing your back into the couch without moving and leaving the blanket only over your legs and lap makes your upper half cold.
DARN YOU SNUGGLIE HATERS!! :p
ColleenSwerb
12-10-2008, 02:28 PM
That's why you wear a sweatshirt or a sweater on top. And fingerless mittens if your hands get cold.
I'm ALWAYS cold in our house, and I think the snuggie is the most ridiculous con ever.
SNUGGIE HATER AND DARN PROUD!

Yeah why not wear a warmie and use a blanket? I'm so confused. Or maybe I just can't get past how silly it looks, lol. I suppose it is functional.

Crecia/Amanda - did either of you get flurries today? I'm in far NW Houston and I haven't seen any yet (but holding out hope!)
You girls just don't get it. They're talking freakin' SNOW FLURRIES in Houston! In HOUSTON! DUDE...we never get snow. It's just freakin' cold here right now! So, just go and poke fun of us poor, cold, southern girls :p

12-10-2008, 03:19 PM
YES! My boys are out playing in the "snow" right now.
They asked for snow for Christmas and I just told them Santa brought it early.

They have a "snugglie-esque" thing at Costco that does have the electric heater. Not saying I'm a snugglie-fan, but for those that are, there's an even warmer option.

My southeast Texan body just can't handle the temps when they drop below 40. Nothing makes me feel warm.
Good thing it very seldom gets below 40.
Oh! Maybe I can get the Bedazzler and the Snugglie.

You all are cracking me up with this conversation! My kids went to CVS last year and bought me a personal sized electric blanket for Christmas. I love it. However it is not as long as I would like it to be.
My niece works at Bed Bath & Beyond and said they have those snugglies there and you can use a coupon (the BB&B coupons have an expiration date...but our store says bring in the old coupons and they will honor them!). Now you get a discount and don't have to pay shipping!
