What kind of tree did you get?

We're going to get a Christmas tree this weekend and I was wondering what's the best kind to get (and why)? In years past we went to a lot that had $10 trees and just got whatever they had, but they are now closed. Any suggestions? How much do most trees cost? (I have a feeling $10 is not typical).

we got a fake one. a cheap, skimpy, $35 one. i hate it. i'm hoping to get nicer one after christmas when they go on sale.

i have seen some lots around here with real ones that look nice for around $20. but it might vary depending on where you live. and i don't know the names of specific trees, lol. hopefully someone else will have an answer for you.

We always get a Frasier Fir!!! They have short soft needles and often have a very pretty blue/green cast to them!! This year we paid about $50 bucks for our 7 footer.

This is a picture of last year, same kind I just haven't gotten pictures of this years!!

It's a perfect tree for little kids....my 10 month old can touch it and not even flinch because it literally feels silky smooth!!!

It's good to know that you can find something for $20! I've been tempted to get a fake tree (just since they are so easy), but DH really likes the fresh ones.

Oh I also wanted to add that supposedly I live the Christmas Tree Capital (Indiana County Pennsylvania) and we only do cut your own and our farm charges by the foot!! Also Frasier Firs are known for being expensive trees!!!

$10 is an amazing price! Every year we cut our own and it costs about $35 for a 71/2 ft. This year we opted for a artificial tree from JCP. It is pre-lit and retailed for $299 on sale for $74. I was so excited to find such a deal. We decorated it last night and it looks very authentic. :)

We got the cheapest 6+ footer we could find and it was $60. It's a Scotch Pine so it's stabby... the silky ones were $100+. Effing ridiculous. I told DH we're getting a nice big FAKE tree next year.

I have no idea what kind ours is, or how much it cost. Jordan got ours at either Lowes or Home Depot. He takes care of it, I just decorate it :p

We used to have an artificial tree. But our stupid cats kept climbing the thing and knocking it over. So last year we got Douglas Fir (?) and had no problems! We got another one last weekend and still no problems with the cats. I don't have pictures of this year's tree yet, but here is last year's unadorned tree:

It's about 6 1/2 feet tall. This year we only paid $35 for it. dh & I both think we paid about double that last year, but we really can't remember (old-timers :D )

We got a Frasier Fir 6-7ft at Lowe's for $35. I love that it is soft, but it also means that you can't hang heavy ornaments on it very easily.

And I think we ended up getting the Charlie Brown tree of the lot. It looked great in the dark and then we got it home and the next morning it had holes all over. Oh well...we're just laughing it off...L.J. loves it and that's what matters.

Either a Noble Fir or Fraser Fir. I love the way they look and ornaments hang wonderfully from them.
