Anyone have a Quadrilla Marble run set?

I just decided to buy my son a Quadrilla Marble run for Christmas. I hear they are the BOMB but the price tag was a bit shocking. It won the Oppenheimer Toy award and was on the Today show and looked awesome. My son played with one of these in a toy store once and I couldn't drag him away.

Does anyone have one of these? Is it going to be too hard for my son to put together? He is 5 years old.

Thanks,

We've had a plastic version of one of these for a long time and my boys LOVE it. I don't think he'll have a problem at 5, but might need some help the first few times just to get familiar with the ways it can be set up before he heads out on his own to do it. We just preferred the plastic version because it was lighter (and we had to move it a lot from storage to the play table), and seemed to stay together better.

That one is awesome - the vortex is so cool!

Yeah we had the cheaper plastic version too for a long time..I HATE them and donated them to the preschool

The oncology clinic at the hospital has one of these - well, the plastic version. Mason LOVED playing with it, but they always kept the marbles locked in the cupboard because of little kids, and the volunteers were hardly ever there when he was. Still, though...it was/is one of his favorite toys there, lol.

The plastic version isn't hard to put together but you need to make sure that he understands how the holes line up so the marble doesn't just drop from the top to the bottom, lol..

WOWZA, that's pricey! I am sure my boys would love one of these too but I can't justify paying $100. DH would think I'd lost my marbles for sure (HE-HE)!

Yeah....it is crazy expensive....but I went for it. I figure it has to last through two kids....so what the heck. Thanks for the comments everyone. Seems like they are a hit with kids. Hopefully my son will love it.
