The annual xmas card!

When I got our dog about 5 years ago I decided to paint and then scan then construct a personalized christmas card incorporating our dog. Well, then we had our daughter last year, so now its our dog and our daughter in the christmas card. I try to make it something meaningful as to where we are in life. Last year I did our daughter sitting in a bumbo seat(since she was only 3 months old) with the dog wrapped in christmas lights sitting next to her. But this year I did this(since her and our dog are really the best of buddies):

Just thought you'd all like to see. Okay back to the painting table. I'll be sure to share what I'm working on when I'm done. It will definitely make you laugh!

That is so creative and sweet Emily! You obviously don't paint one for every person, so how do you distribute? Make a copy then print it for as many as you want?

I paint the picture then scan it in. For this one I painted the snowman separately. Then I painted my daughter and dog together. Once I scanned it in I separated my daughter from the dog. I laid it out in photoshop so I could arrange them to print out all lined up. That is probably the most annoying part of the whole thing for me. Once I get it down I print on cardstock, spray with uv protectant coating, then cut and assemble. It sounds like a lot of work, but once I get to the cutting/assembling part, it actually goes really fast. I've done about 30 so far and have about 20 more to go!

Thanks so much everyone!

Laura, definitely, I love to make cards! My dad hires me every year to make his and I'm currently working on another one right now for a fellow weimaraner owner. Keep me in mind for next year!
