so i was trying to think of a little something for Chloe to give to her teacher as a little christmas gift. i love the Snowman Soup recipe, like Penny has in the shoppe for gallon paint can. but i don't think i wanna do the paint can, lol. i thought about either making hybrid gift box (found a few free templates) or putting it in a mug. would that be a cute gift? or is it lame, lol. should i add something else in there too? i was trying to think of something useful maybe. i know there are teachers in here. any ideas?

TIA!

I never get gifts at school....booo....lol. But I know that my DW gets small gift cards (like no more than $5) and that those are cool...

BTW, I would put the snowman soup thing in a mug

thats what i was thinking-a mug. or my mom suggested making a mix of cocoa or an instant coffe mix and putting it in one of those mason jars with a ribbon and a cute tag with instructions. i think i'm leaning towards this, so that she'd have enough for more than one cup of it. she could even take it to school and just heat up some water and have her jar of mix all ready to put in the water. so i've been searching for drink mix recipes, lol.

What about this cocoa jar that is on Heather's blog? I am making the snowman soup in little bags for my son's class. For the teachers, I took little square votive jars and put thanks for being a great teacher on the front and to and from on the back and trees on the sides. I just got done wiht these today and will try to get them in my gallery later. Kind of hard to explain my mind is so boggled today getting Christmas done lol.

i think i found what i'm doing!! what a clever idea!!

oh, those jars on Heathers blog are cute too!!! so many ideas, so little time, lol

You could even add a few chocolate dipped plastic spoons to the gift - some with sprinkles or crushed peppermint on the chocolate and some with just chocolate.

I would hesitate to give any teacher "another mug" - I'm sure they get swamped with them. LOL

Small gift cards or gift certificates to their favorite coffee shop/etc would be nice too!

i like the idea of just pouring it in a mug from the sugar dispenser. but i like the layered look of the jars too. hmmm....decisions, decisions...lol

i was thinking of chocolate dipped spoons, too.

awww never?! thats not nice!! you need better students

See, I really need to spend more time here. I went out today for teacher gifts and bought a pre-packaged mix to give to 5 teachers. The project on Heather's blog is so much cuter! Oh well--I may have a few other gifts I can use it for. If not, I know what they're getting next year!

My hubby's a teacher, he loves gift cards (Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc). He usually doesn't do anything with homemade jams, candies, etc .. (I found a huge stash in our garage several months after xmas last year) .. his favorite gift would be a favorable rating on www.ratemyteacher.com, lol.

I did a Starbucks travel mug for dd's teacher this year and then picked up a tin of hot chocolate at Wal-Mart to go with it. I am really bad about eating/drinking stuff that other people make unless I know them well so I didn't want to give something like that to her. I had it easy because her teacher's MIL babysits for my kiddos so she supplied me with the pics to use on the mug LO.
