Anyone have a recipe for these? I keep hearing about them and people say oreos, cream cheese, and dip in chocolate, but I need specific info - I'm cookie illiterate.

Oreo Truffles from All Recipes:

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
  • 1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted

DIRECTIONS

  1. Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Cookies can also be finely crushed in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin.) Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  2. Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover chocolate can be stored at room temperature for another use.) Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.
  3. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.

  • Place truffle ball in melted chocolate to coat; roll if necessary. Lift truffle from chocolate using 2 forks (this will allow excess chocolate to run off) before placing on wax paper.

And to make it easier on yourself..use almond bark instead of chocolate!

ohmygosh, Liz and I just had these at a party last night!! They were sooooooo yummy, although Liz didn't love them. But these were dipped in white chocolate. Yuuuummmmmm....

My pastor's wife makes these for their Christmas open house every year and they are TDF! She dips hers in white chocolate or vanilla almond bark though.

I make these every year!! Here's what I do...

1 pkg. double stuf MINT Oreos
3/4 block of cream cheese (you don't need the whole block when you're using double stuf oreos)
1 bar of Trader Joe's Belgian Milk Chocolate (Pound Plus)
White chocolate

I throw all the Oreos in my electric mixer and crush them up in there. THen I add the cream cheese and mix it some more. Then I refrigerate the filling for about half an hour so it's easier to work with. Then I melt the chocolate and dip away! Cool those in the fridge... then I melt some white chocolate and drizzle it over them! YUMMMMMMM!
