I'm NEVER going to finish!

GAH! I've been tagging in ACDSee for 2 straight days now and it feels like I've barely made a dent. I'm only on the "Ks" in my unzipped files... then there's all the files I haven't opened yet. I wish I knew some 14 year old kid who'd want to make some extra $. I so pay her to do this for me. UGH!

I hear ya! I got really behind in my tagging. I spent two full days tagging/organizing/backing up my files. It was really worth the effort, though! I found a bunch of stuff I didn't remember having because, what?...I hadn't tagged it! LMAO! Keep after it, Laura :D You'll be glad you did it!

That is what scares me!! I need to quit hoarding stuff and tag it and USE it! LOL!

hope you can get it done soon!

I am so with you Laura! When my old EHD died I lost all my tags so I'm starting from scratch. I have alphas done! LOL!

I thought losing my EHD was going to make it easy to start from scratch with the tagging. But, I died down with it and 4 months later it's out of control. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if I was trying to go through all the stuff I lost. YIKES!

I am so there with you! I got ACDSee for Christmas, and I spent one of my days off tagging - I didn't get even through all my alphas. Sigh. I think this is going to be a long lasting task....

I found that as I went I streamlined my tagging. I started off with all these categories and colors and themes and shapes etc and tagging everything in every kit, but after a couple days I realized I just didn't need that level of detail on everything because of how I scrap.

I'm tagging my photos now and that is taking me forever because I have the opposite problem & find myself adding more categories than I started with. :)

I'm like Stacey - I really streamlined what I was actually tagging. So I don't tag every ribbon and every element, but I do tag according to theme, color, alpha, favorite go-to designers, special elements, favorite elements, previews and that's it. It's helped so much. I rarely do searches in ACDSee, and found that I was wasting way too much time trying to tag in too much detail.

Even then, I find myself not really using it for much than unzipping and tagging...so eventually I'll end up just tagging previews for special interests LOLOL

I was caught up....six months ago! Then we moved and I got completely behind again!! Sigh...my to be tagged folder is 16 gigs sigh!!

Well, I purged a lot of stuff and kept what I would use over and over (mainly my TLP and SSD stuff) and then tagged that. =) But I don't use ACDSee, I have my own method. LOL

It takes a long time indeed, but you'll be really happy when you're done! Keeping things simple is definitely a good idea! ;-)

How's it going? Take a break for a day or two (but don't download anything new LOL)!!

You will get there, and so will I!! I've tagged all the new alphas and "little extras" so far, now onto the kits. For me that is the hardest part is the giant huge kits I have and they take forever! But I do like each piece to be described somehow because I do search for things like "wordart", "journaling tag", "staple", "stitches", "ribbon", "bow", "etc", so I know it will be worth it. I gave up a long time ago on describing the items though (color, style, pattern) because I never searched that way!

It's getting there. I still haven't gotten to the unzipped stuff, but I'm almost there. I think I'm going to take a break today and maybe tomorrow. I have 4 LOs I need to do for CTs, so I'm going to work on those and hopefully that will spur me back into getting it done.

I think it's taking so long because I'm being very detailed with my tagging. I like options. lol

Don't tell me that! I'm going through the files I've recovered now one by one, sorting back into the designer's folders and then I plan on tagging as I go... slowly but surely!
