I finally have an mp3 player. It's not an ipod, it's a philips, but whatever. So now help me fill it up!!!!!! I need some good 80's songs, some good upbeat stuff too. I have very ecletic tastes, I do listen mainly to country and some pop, but I have everyone on here from Billy Joel to Ashton Shepard to The Doors to Rick Nelson to Perry Como, George Michael, The Monkees.... LOL

Both of Taylor Swifts Albums are amazing if you like the young country vibe. Every single song is great!
The new Fall Out Boy album kicks booty.
Coldplay's Viva La Vida Prospects March edition is fab.
Let me know if any of this is the vibe you're looking for and I'll suggest more. Not sure any of this goes with the Doors, Perry Como and the Monkees tho :D
Good luck!

Coldplay's Viva La Vida Prospects March edition is fab.
I recommend that and the regular Viva La Vida. And as a good (and over obsessed) Coldplay fan, the other 3 albums: Parachutes, A rush of blood to the head and X&Y :)

My current fave in my CD player in my car is David Cook's album :)

80's music??
Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Warrant, Poison, Guns N Roses
country wise you gotta have Randy Travis, John Anderson, Reba, Dolly Parton, George Strait, Kenny Rogers
also throw in a little Elvis, Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Doobie Brothers. Lynyrd Skynyrd and some Credence Clearwater Revival
that would be perfect for me LOL

My favorite place to get some 80's music (particularly New Wave) are the "Living in Oblivion" series of albums/discs. Also some Huey Lewis & the News, Journey, Heart, Duran Duran, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Steely Dan, Prince, U2 and I love Neil Young, too. I don't listen to country too much, so my only recommendations there are Pam Tillis, Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks.
Outside of those I listen mostly to alternative/indie and heavy metal, and I'm not sure if you would like my picks from those, lol.
sounds like you've got a lot of great 80's suggestions. i don't know what you'd think of joshua radin, but he's currently on pretty heavy rotation on my playlist!

You know what we did. We joined Rhapsody for a month (free), downloaded (and paid) for a bunch of songs we liked, and then quit after the month was up so we didn't have to pay. That way we didn't have to get whole albums of music, just a bunch of songs we remembered and wanted. And you can listen to them before you buy to make sure. That is the nice thing about not getting an ipod, you can use different places to get your music instead of being stuck with just itunes. I know Amazon has music too, just not sure if you can listen to it first like the Rhapsody thing. DH was in charge of that part, I just picked the songs!
