Challenge Yourself in 2009!

Hey Hey Sweet Shoppers!

Like your favorite page-a-day calendar, all of us at the Sweet Shoppe are thrilled to debut our brand new challenge-a-day format! Easier, inspirational and more fun than EVER, we invite you to stop by SSD each and every day to find a new scrap challenge, blog prompt, game, quiz, photography skill and with the nutty nutter brilliant babes and designers around, who knows what else might pop up too!

Not only do we want to inspire you to scrap more in 2009, we want you to have fun and earn your Sweet Rewards with more variety than ever!

The rules are simple...

Check each daily thread in the current month's special forum and complete the challenge by the posted deadline. For most challenges, you'll have 1 week (7 days) to complete the task for points but you may have longer for special challenges such as the Treat of the Month lift or hybrid projects.

Upload your completed layout or photo if applicable to your standard member gallery (no special gallery is necessary with our new format) and post a link to your page, blog post, etc under the daily thread to which it belongs.

Earn 1 point for each daily challenge completed. Points will only be given to those posters who reply with the correct information within each daily thread.

Sweet Rewards will be earned according to the following point breakdown:

15+ points (50% of the challenges) = 20%
22+ points (75% of the challenges) = 30%
27+ points (90% of the challenges) = 40%

This point schedule may be adjusted slightly each month for the exact # of days in the month. ie. as February has fewer days, you'll need fewer points to earn the various discounts.

There are no longer extra points given for using Sweet Shoppe new releases however you MUST use Sweet Shoppe products to earn your point for each digital layout or hybrid project. Please make a quick note of the Sweet Shoppe product(s) used when posting your completed page in each daily thread.

Many of our challenges will take just a few minutes to complete and some will really push you to think outside the box too! We can't wait for you to get started and we look forward to inspiring you in 2009!

I have the same question- I often tend to be a mix and match kind of scrapper. Is there like a percentage we should aim for of SSD products for it to be eligible for a point?

Without knowing for sure-I'm almost sure that the answer to this question is yes...let me point Robin this direction!

Yeah, the challenges are back! I like the challenge-a-day format, but I'm going to miss that extra point for new releases.

I'm wondering about percentage SSD products, too. Like if a LO was made with a DJB font or uses one of Traci's stitching packs, is that enough to count? Or does it need to be made with primarily SSD products?

as of right now there is NOT a certain percentage you have to use...that might change in the future though.

You are still allowed to use other stuff people...just make sure there is some SSD products on your LO!

When are the Sweet Reward Points given? For instance, the January Sweet Reward Points--is there a certain time that they are given and a certain amount of time or time period that they must be used in? Also, can they be combined with the 20% off on a Saturday when New Releases come out?

They are usually the valid for the first M-F of the next month. I try and PM you the code on the last day of the month for those that have enough points or the 1st if I have to do a final update for you.

They can not be combined with any other sales/etc...Feb might be changed up with dates b/c of our birthday celebration so as soon as I find out from Robin about that I'll let y'all know.

I'd say as long as it's a current SSD designer and the product was sold here, then yes, that would be fine. :) I know a few people have done challenges with some of my retired kits, and I'm fairly certain that they still got points for it.

I just wanted to thank you for changing the format to not giving an extra pt for using a new kit. This makes me go through all my wonderful SSD kits to find the right one for the pics I need to scrap....and not just fixating on the new ones. Thank you!

So if you don't complete at least 50% of the challenges each month, you get no reward? Do the points accumulate or do you need to use them each month?

yep 50% of the challenges earns you 20% discount
75% earns you 30%
and 90% earns you 40%

Points do NOT carry over each month. They reset every 1st :)
