Question about new challenges

Hello all! I'm not new to digi scrapping or the sweet shop but I find it hard to do challenges or participate in the gallery to much. Partially because I am slightly intimidated by all the beautiful work here. I would really like to start doing some of the challenges here but I don't have a blog. Probably one of the only people in the digi world who doesn't-LOL. Here is my question, do I have to have a blog to participate in the challenges? I hope not as I would really like to try and get more involved.

a blog is only required for the blog challenges. there are quite a few people who have created a blog JUST for those challenges though -- easy points! you can get a free one through blogspot or wordpress. :)

welcome to SSD, btw!

Hi :) There are lots of challenges that need no blog at all but most of them need you to upload your creation to the gallery here at SSD. Every day we have a different challenge so I am sure there will be plenty that appeal to you.

Ask for help if you get stuck uploading to the gallery, there are plently people who will help and we were all new here at one time xx

Thanks!!!

Thanks girls for the reply! I am going to start browsing the challenges now to see if there is something for me!

Welcome to SSD :) Jump right in!!

and like they said...only challenge you need a blog for is the blog challenge (From our blog to yours) :) The rest are just fun little challenges, LO challenges, photo challenges, etc...Can't wait to have ya joining in!

Meg, as long as we're talking about blogs and challenges, I have a question. Since we need 90% of the points to earn the 40% discount, if we don't have a blog will we even be able to reach that 90%? Will there be more than 3 blog challenges per month?

Another quick question - If I use a kit that is a collab kit with a non ssd designer does it still count?

I've never had a blog before, but I finally signed up for a free WordPress blog last night so that I can do the blog challenges. It only took about 15 minutes to get signed up and set up. For now, I have no plans to use it for anything other than the blog challenges. I'm assuming there will be several challenges every month that I don't want to participate in, so I want to be able to get the points for the blog challenges.

Rochelle--I think for Jan there are 4 blog challenges...so you'd need at least 1 unless ya get lucky enough to have a GSO or something this month :)

For those that don't have a blog and don't want to create one, if you create a profile over at Scrapbook.com, they have a blog built into your profile. You don't have to set anything up....you can just type in your entries. This is what I used for my SSD blog entries before I was a Sugarbabe (I didn't have a blog either).

Thanks, Meg. That's good to know ahead of time. Looks like I'll be shooting for 30%, which actually works better for my scrap/work schedule.

One last ditch effort here....does a Facebook wall count as a blog post? I'm kidding.

If the product is in the store its a guaranteed safe bet that its cool to use!
I think you are refering to goodies from the shops 'Perfect Pairs' section. These are all fine for use in the challenges.
Hope that clarifies!

Don't be intimidated! I felt that way too, but with every challenge I feel I get better (and maybe one day "when I grow up" I'll be able to scrap like the babes do!) No one is here to judge and I find people are extremely sweet here! No pun intended.... :)

Thanks everyone!

Wow! So many helpful people here! Thanks so much for all of your comments and suggestions. Can't wait to get started on the challenges! Thanks again!

I'm talking about Toxic Pop by Melissa Bennett & Studio MGL which by looking at it looks ok
