I appreciated so much you all praying for my grandfather a month or so back. Now it's my Gran that needs prayers.
Long story short, Granddaddy and I took her to the hosp. Friday afternoon. They diagnosed pneumonia (no surprise), but found a couple of heart related things that were a surprise. They admitted her and after further testing, most of the heart stuff seemed ok. However, while in ER, her BP spiked to 211/106. That prompted the flurry of testing that lead to some of the heart stuff. It's been high ever since and they have to keep giving her meds for it. She has no history of high BP, so the docs were saying it could be related to the pneumonia and just her bodies reaction to being sick, stress, etc. We honestly thought she'd be home today and this morning she seemed a lot better. However, her doc came in to examine her and found her heartrate to be very fast. He ordered a quickie EKG and then after reading it, they hooked her up to some little monitor that sent the data to the cardiac wing. Within about 10 mins, her doc and nurses rushed in and said they were moving her ASAP to ICU...she was in A-Fib. Her heartrate was in the upper 190s. They got her moved, gave meds, and brought it down to about 105. They have strict visiting hours, so I'm home for a couple of hours until I can go back (around 3).
I'm very scared. I wasn't going to post this here and had decided not to until this morning. I just know how powerful prayer is and that ever single prayer will be heard. Please pray for her (Kathryn), for her doctors and nurses, and for my grandfather who is very scared. My gran is more like a mom to me...I need her.
Thank you all...I'm so glad I can come to you all for support. ((Hugs))
PS)Please excuse spelling/typos this time.
