Anyone use AT&T for home internet? Do you like it? Do you have many outages? Does it work well with wireless network?

I have Comcast right now. But it looks like AT&T has some fun features. I'm a bit hesitant about DSL though . . .

I don't have it anymore because I moved, but it was fine when I had it from November 2007 - November 2008.

Of course, you can't get DSL without a landline, so it was abt 13-14 bucks for the phone (equally split between actual cost & taxes) and then 29.99 for my DSL service. That deal required automatic debit. Sometimes, it came out much slower than its reported 28th of the month, like the 3rd or 4th of the following month, but it was always the right amount, etc.

I think I might have had one or two outages for a few hours. No biggie. It never seemed especially slow, but I was the only person at my house and the only one using it.

Talk to me at the end of this month, which will be the first without that automatic debit, and let's see if they actually disconnected it like they should have. :p

We have regular DSL - not Uverse or whatever it's called. We have occasional problems with temporary outtages...but they're usually no more than a minute or so. Our wireless is fine.

I have AT&T DSL. It's okay. It's not the fastest thing in the world but it was an upgrade from the dial-up that we had when we upgraded about 3 1/2 years ago. I have never had a problem with outages.

We are actually looking at getting AT&T Uverse with phone, internet and cable.

We have AT&T & love it! We have no problems with it at all. Of course, if we wanted to switch we wouldn't since DH works for them & we get major discounts! lol But, seriously, we really like it alot! I don't think we've had any outages in over 3 years that we've been married!

Uverse is AT&T's television service! lol ;)

We have U-Verse and the whole ATT bundle and LOVE it! Of course my DH works for ATT and U-verse was a project that he worked on!! LOL We got it before it was available to the public and have not experienced any problems!! It is fast and reliable. Of course U-Verse it NOT available in all areas yet so you have to check to see if you can get it. Our next door neighbors cannot get it yet (and she works for ATT too!!)

I have no complaints about it and the discount is nice too!

I have it and like it a lot. We have had some problems but I think it is the router not AT&T....I want U-Verse so bad but it is still not available in my area yet.

Their customer service is THE WORST ON THE PLANET!

I tried cancelling my services in September. They said everything was cancelled and gave me confirmation numbers. In October I got a bill. I called, they said it was all cancelled and to ignore the bill. I called in November after I got another bill. They said nothing was cancelled, and they'd take care of it. I got ANOTHER BILL in December, and NOTHING HAD BEEN CANCELLED YET! Collections was chasing me down for money that I "owed" for services that I didn't use! Each and every one of these phone calls lasted about 45 minutes, most of the time on hold, all on my cell phone during peak hours. YIKES! I hate AT&T, they are of the devil, and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone, or ever return as a customer.

BTW, the final phone call was in December. I actually got someone in customer service who was new and didn't give me the scripted run around. She took care of it. Finally.

We have always has ATT. We started with DSL and never had a problem. We now have Uverse and LOVE IT! It a bit pricey because I got the max internet speed and we have the HD service. The only outages we experienced were weather related. We don't have the voip, just a landline since we use our cell phones for long distance calls- also have ATT cell phones.

I have no complaints about customer service. Everytime my contract is up for renewal they have been really nice and upgraded my internet speed for free. Except when we moved to uverse since it was a different set up. They have also given us all our modems for free and upgraded those for us as needed.

The set up for uverse is a a "gateway" box that has ethernet, usb ports and wifi. Then we have a usb wifi catcher on our dinosaur desktop. We also have the main DVR box that does all the recording on our main TV and the other cable boxes can play back the recorded shows wirelessly. I know you can hook your printers, ehds and other stuff up to the gateway but I use my wireless usb hub for now.

I have no problems access internet from anywhere in the house and in the backyard. When I am home I also use my wifi on my iphone instead of the 3G- it is much faster.

that stinks Mandy!

At&t isn't available in our neighborhood but I wish it was! I don't like our company right now at all and we're switching in a few months! the internet goes out when we have little storms or when it's really windy and you can't use the phone if the power goes out. it's annoying.

We have AT&T and really like it. We haven't had a lot of outages, but my in laws who also have it, their internet goes down like 10 times a day. I think it may be a problem with their wiring though. I have never had problems with their customer service either! We actually switched to a different provider, b/c it was cheaper, but it was way slow and always going down and so we switched back and actually got a rebate of $100 for coming back! :)

Well I have AT&T DSL service (can't get Uverse in my area). I also work there, so I got the DSL service when it was really new in my area--had a couple problems right at first, but now it's awesome. Would love to upgrade to faster, but I can't at the moment. Sometimes when the weather is bad it may slow down some, but I haven't ever lost the service.

Got the wireless modem and regular DSL service (not UVerse). I have to have a landline for directTV so no extra cost for me. I have express service and have never had a problem- fast too. HTH!

We have AT&T DSL right now and it works fine for us. We are getting U-verse set up this Tuesday (yay!), so I am curious to see if that will change my opinion or not.
