I went to Barnes and Noble about 2 weeks ago to get my Lightroom 2.0 book, and wandered over to the magazines to see if there were any new craft ones. Some photography ones caught my eye though, so I bought 2. One was awful, I barely spent 15 minutes flipping through it.
The other one though? AMAZING!! It's called Digital SLR photography (www.digitalslrphoto.com) and it took me a week of reading it off an on to get through it all. It's printed in England, so it was a more expensive mag and I don't know if you can subscribe over seas, but you can bet your arse I'll be picking up the latest copy whenever I'm in there again!
They had buying guides, amazing articles, how to's. Almost all of the printed photos had the camera specs included in a corner (camera model, f-stop, shutter speed, ISO) which is SO helpful!
Anyway, it was an awesome mag and I wanted to pass that along to anyone else who might be interested. Mine was $9.99.

Yea I won't be subscribing, lol. Jordan might have a heart attack. I'll just pick it up when I see it :)
Totally worth the $10.

Thanks Col! I'll have to check it out.
Also there are a couple of free photography mags you can sign up for too. I just got my first issues of After Capture (http://www.submag.com/sub/ak) and Professional Photographer (http://www.ppmag.com/subscribe.php) (well this one was free when I signed up awhile back) but haven't had a chance to read them yet and I also just signed up for Rangefinder (http://www.rangefindermag.com/subscribe.aspx).

Hey Col...this may just be the math teacher in me, but...
If it's $10 a pop, and you buy it every month out of the year, that would make it $120 for the year...lol....
My rationalization...it always easier to hide a $10 purchase than a $122 purchase, lol!!

Yes, I do understand that, lol. But, I don't go to Barnes and Noble every month (Jordan would end up killing me for spending every cent I own on books), so I won't be buying every issue. Kwim? And the pounds to dollars conversion that I found said it would have been $132 to subscribe. :p

I do that too, and Steph ALWAYS gets upset b/c I'll be like "oh, no I don't want a subscription" and then buy almost every issue.

I hear ya Aaron, lol. Maybe I'll ask for a subscription to that for my birthday......
If I found it in like Walmart or Target or the grocery store, I'd DEFINITELY be screwed and buy it every month, lol.
