So.... weight loss....

ETA: HERE is a thread we started for our first week! anyone can join!

Ok... so who is trying to do a weightloss push right now that the new year has started and all that jazz?

I only ask because, I'm like RIGHT THERE at the very end, but i really really wanna push for like those last five pounds. I got to my goal back in october and I was really proud, but now I'm feeling the urge to really hit it for those last 5 pounds that I didn't have the courage to put in my original goal.

I KNOW that what it's going to take for me is, exercise and eating better.... and I was wondering if anyone wanted to do some sort of a like 1 month long exercising challenge with me. I personally hate logging my food for the world to see, I'm sorta personal about that I guess, but when it comes to actual working out, I love like logging my minutes and the challenge of working with a group to like up my time spent running or doing some sort of work out....

anyways... long post simply to say, anyone interested in doing a more fitness based short term little weight loss challenge... I'm thinking something simple through even like in a thread here where we count our exercise mins and push ourselves to really hit it...

anyone??? maybe we can aim to be in some sexy nighty by the big v-day :)

I'm in. I've been clinging to those last ten baby pounds for two years. I'm pretty sure DH would like to see some sexy schtuff by Valentines day!!!

I'll brainstorm some ideas for it today, any suggestions on how you guys wanna keep track? I'm really open, i just know i need to track it!
 
I have a lot to lose, but I am focusing on exercise right now as my way to do so and I just started up again last week. So I would love to join this - heck, I lost 2.6 pounds in the last week just from exercising and not changing my eating habits! Count me in!

Okay! I'm in. I have a lot to lose. DH and I have been walking 2 miles every night for about a month and a half. He is doing atkins and he lost 60 pounds since November. I can't do all meat. I have a throat problem that makes it hard to swallow meat. Anyhow, I have not lost a stinkin pound. I gave up coffee, soda and cookies. I haven't had a peanut butter cup in a month. Are you kidding? Not a pound?
So, I have The Firm. and it usually helps. So I guess I will get off my butt if you are.
 
I need an exercise push...starting out small so I will actually do it!

I lost 86 lbs last year (all that baby weight from having two kiddos back to back) and now need to tone up and get in shape. I joined WW last March and loved it!!! I am a lifetime member now.
 
Yupp I'm in - maybe it'll help keep my motivated. I joined a gym on Saturday. I only need to lose about 80 pounds LOL.....but taking it one day at a time!!!
 
can i still get in on this. I need to loose 13 pounds. i have been really good doing my exercises daily since Jan1...but i would love the push of some gal pals.
 
i bought one of those big excersize balls, and a yoga mat last week. and have used them.....twice....lol. i wanted one of those Bender balls like you see on tv. i went to walmart and found one similar that i want to get for $7.99! i really, really wanna lose this flab left over from my pregnancies. don't know how much will go away on my belly (stuped stretched skin :() but i can atleast get my hips, butt and thighs toned i hope. so, i'm in. i need LOTS of motivation. maybe this will help!

i don't really have a goal weight. since i'm in the right weight bracket for my height. though, i have gained a little sinc before the holidays, lol. mostly, i just wanna tone up.
 
Sooo! yay! Excercise buddies! I think this will be good!

I was thinking what we should maybe do, just to keep us from having to make excercise any harder than it already actually is! We should keep this as simple as possible! Perhaps, we can just start a thread here at ssd, and we can just support eachother here, its going to be only 1 month long and really pretty simple, so we won't be over taking the forums, but we also won't be adding a ton of new places to go online, which should simplify right?

On our thread, I was thinking we can do one weekly thread, and then each check in as we excercise, and then root eachother on too, so that we get some instant gratification for our hard work! :)

I was thinking, doing it this way too, its easy for newbies to pop in and say, "woo me" i ran a mile. And also it's ok if someone has life happen and has to drop out. This isn't about not letting down your team or winning a big prize, its only about accountability and encouraging eachother :) I was thinking though, I may throw some random prizes in myself, so you never know when you'll get lucky for your hard work!

Ok so I'm going to start a thread, and I'll come back here and link it after I have it done :)
 
I started my weight loss with the skinny jeans thing and I have lost almost 20 lbs. My goal was 160 and I will know tomorrow what my official weight is, I was 163 last week! So I will continue to watch what I eat and workout 3 times a week and see if I continue to lose!

I never do resolutions as my mentality is why wait for later what you can start to change TODAY!!
 
I can't join you right now. The first few weeks on my strict plan demand NO exercise. I'd love to join you all next month though. :)

I'm in. I started WW from home on Thursday, though I cheated once. I've lost almost 3 lbs in 4 days.
 
Mandy WW totally rocked my world like that too! The first was AWESOME like over 5 pounds, and then the weeks following it was amazingly consistent at about a pound a week! I love love love WW and I feel like I'm a better eater now, even though I don't really count my points anymore, its like now I know how to keep the weight off. I know you'll love it!
