Photoshop Lightroom - save ??

My dh just bought me Adobe Lightroom!!! I am very excited and scared to even install. It says "professional photographers or seasoned amatures" I'm neither. Anyway, I need help, advice, sugestions, tutorials, etc! Do we have any SSD presets? Thanks!!!

***how do I save an edited photo, using lightroom, so that I can open it in Photoshop?****

Oh I absolutely love LR, you'll have so much fun with it! I don't think there are any presets in the shoppe here, Traci Reed had some but I'm not sure if they're available anymore.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips is a great place to start
Pro Photo Show has a great list of all the free presets that are out there

and here are a couple of threads here about it:

Yes, it is amazing! Don't be scared of it. I had no clue what I was doing when I installed mine but it didn't take me long to find some good presets and it is as easy as 1 touch editing and it also helped push me to explore editing a little more and make my own presets. You are going to love it.

The one thing I found though is when I first started using it I was doing jpegs. When I started shooting in RAW it made a world of difference in the presets I was using.
I found presets by googling "Lightroom Presets" and found a ton.

I had the version 2.1 or whatever it is as a trial version for a while ... I used the export button, and it defaulted to saving it in a new folder in the same location as the original photo, which was fine with me. :) But, you can change it. Export is the way to go to get it out though! :)

I just right click the image and pick "Edit in Photoshop." I can save the file from there. :)

Even better ... I didn't get to play long enough to figure the easy ways, lol. :) I'm glad you responded right after me to save her doing it the slow way!!!!

Yeah to me THAT is the hardest thing to figure out with lightroom, why they can't just call it Save As like everyone else I don't know!

But here's somethin' I learned recently (just starting to get into the "tools" in LR2:
Yesterday (and almost always) I had a strong light on one side of his face and the other side was shadowed. Well if you click on the little graduated filter icon (under the histogram) in the Develop Module, and then click on exposure. Then starting at the darkest part of the pic,
click and drag out across the pic until the lighter part. Then adjust the exposure until it evens out. You can rotate it, stretch it out, shrink it, and then click on close or hit enter and you are done. Seriously LOVE this tool in lightroom!! I'm sure there is some way of doing this in PS, but it is so easy in LR!!

Here's the final product that I used this tool with:

Most of all just play around! You can always go back to the original if you don't like something (in history).
