HELP!!!!!

Oh my gosh. Ack!! Last night I installed an action... I installed one just last week and I'm pretty sure I did it the same way... and now when I open up PSE, ALL MY SPECIAL EFFECTS ARE GONE!!!! I've restarted my computer and everything. *cry* I can't scrap or design without all my layer styles!!! HELP ME PLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEE! :crying:

did you clear your cache? You need to clear it. But I did that with a coffee shop action last week. had to make a new psd and put all my actions in it.... BLECK!

I've never cleared my cache before.... lol. I don't even know where it is because I've tried to do it before according to a tutorial and it wasn't where it said it would be.

Ohhh Megan I can't help at all, but I hope you get it all sorted out. I would be freaking out too!! (((hugs)))

hold down ctrl+shift+alt when you open PSE until you get the rebuild artwork and effects box come up. Click yes to delete and let it open. This will clear out everything and start it over for you. You might have to install some items again but it should put everything back in place.

FYI- When I used PSE I always held down shift when opening after installing new presets or actions to clear out the cache. Especially if you have a bunch of swatches or patterns loaded.

Oh, and it never asked me to delete anything while it was rebuilding the effects.

And sometimes it takes a few times to get the delete box to come up. I would hold down ctrl+alt+shift with my left hand and then open up PSE with my right. If you delete this will reset it back to way it was installed. You will have to reinstall all actions and such and you will lose any preference changes you made. But sometimes if gets so bogged down you need to start fresh.

But it sounds like you just needed to clean your pallet out- which holding down shift while opening will do. If PSE starts running slow that is always a quick fix.
