Oh no. I have it in march sometime. I sure hope they send me a reminder, cause I have NO clue where the notice is now...

i just read over this notice thing and it says:

Penalities for failure to obey a juror summons (Sections 18-8-612 and 18-1.3-501, Colorado Revised Statutes):
A person who fails to obey a juror summons may be fined up to seven hundred fifty dollars, or imprisioned for up to six months, or both.

ladies, i'm about to cry and i have chest pain.

I can't imagine they're going to be hard on you... you missed it by one business day. Did you leave a voice mail so they know you called today? I think it will be OK. hugs girlie

i did leave a message, but that chick high tails it out of the office at 3. my old neighbor is a cop around here and i just emailed her to see what the situation is. i'm about to freak out.

i'm actually sitting here cool as a cucumber, but that doesn't take away from the fact that i most likely have a new $750 fine sitting on my doorstep. i need to know what the situation is so i can deal, either way.

Honestly, they usually aren't looking to punish people, unless those people are purposely trying to avoid serving. I'm sure if explain, apologize and offer to serve, they won't make a big deal of it.

Fizz, this happened to someone my husband served jury duty with. All they did was reschedule it for another time. I'm sure this happens WAY more often than you might think.

that felt so good. i did say in my message that i was happy to serve and it was not intentional, etc. i will call her first thing in the morning to make sure i know the dealio. i feel like a hard criminal.

my dad is an ex-cop and i would ask him except he leans pessimistic and i def don't need that.

I forgot once...my brain was off by a week. I called as soon as I realized that I screwed up, apologized profusely, and the lady just rescheduled me for the next week. It was no biggie (hopefully you can clear it up easily in the morning).

(((hugs)))

wow...that happened to me once. It was the only jail time I've served. That was not fun at all...just remember, sneak in smokes...anyone will do anything for smokes...

LOL!!!!Just kidding, I am sure it will be FINE Fizz...I just had to yank your chain.

probably nothing will happen. Your name will just be entered back into the drawing for jury duty and you will probably be called again soon. I got it once in August of this year but I cannot serve because my son rides the handicapped bus and I HAVE to be here everyday when he gets off the bus or they report me to the state for neglect (or so Ive been told by other parents and his old teacher). If I am not here they take him back to the school and will wait until 4:30 I believe and then well Im not sure what would happen because I have never not been there. I put this on the excuse form and mailed it back and I guess they never received it so I got another one less then two months later. It was my understanding they remove your name and you would not get another notice for several months or longer after summoned so long as you are excused or you actually serve so I called the number and talked to the lady and she said they never received the first one and marked me as excused for that one and excused the new one which was for sometime last month. She said that would be acceptable excuse for anytime I get the jury summons as long as it still applied and that I should not get another one since mine was excused for at least a year possibly longer. I would not worry about it. They rarely ever from my understanding go after anyone for not showing up for jury duty.

DH had this happen once. They just said "Don't let it happen again or you will face a fine"I think they probably give you a first time pass. Mistakes happen & they know that.

I was convinced I was going to jail for missing a court summons for a speeding ticket last week, so I totally understand the panicy feeling. But really, they understand. Its the repeat people who have to worry.

see sometimes...they won't get you right away...they'll tell you it's ok...and then, one day you are walking through Macy's, shopping for some new Coach boots...and BAM!!! You are surrounded by 50 SWAT Team officers...like down from the ceiling and stuff...and that's it..jail for you. Without Coach boots.

Oh, dont' worry girls (and Aaron). I already called Liz tonight and set up an escape plan from the clink. We've got it all worked out. And when we flee across the border, my new identity is going to be BoomBoom McGillicudy and Liz is gonna become Fizzy Minitonka.

We'll see ya on the flip side, mi amigas y amigo.

So sorry this happened Fizz. You totally have a lot on your mind with trying to sell your house and all. I am sure that everything will be fine and they will let it go this time around. It was an honest mistake, not like you are trying to skip out or anything.

Aaaaaaannnndd, if you do end up in the slammer wearing that striped outfit - I will come and visit you. Maybe I'll bring you a cake with a bobby pin in it so you can plan your escape.
