I have started looking around at the different PRESCHOOL homeschool programs out there on the market and I came across Little Hands to Heaven. Does anyone use this program? I like it because it is geared to a 2 year old which is the age that I am going to start. Do you have any other recommendations for curriculums that you have used and really like?

Thanks so much :)

I'll be keeping on this thread. ;)
Mine turns two on Monday, and I wanted to start something more structured, as well.

We didn't do anything at 2, either. We just spent a lot of time reading, doing manipulatives (playdough, pinching with big tweezers, scissors), doing lots of house activities with mom and learning to count along the way, more reading and even more reading, and lots of free play.

I am with Dacry & Megs on this...I have twin boys and we didn't start home schooling until this Fall (they are in PreK I guess you'd say) and turn 5 in April! We did a lot of play dates and such at 2 but nothing organized or structured!

How weird I was just looking into this for my daughter whos 4. What are/did you use for PreK? I started phonics last week...with the book the Ordinary Parents Guide to Reading...I think thats what its called. Any other tips, programs or websites? I looked into Sonlight but didn't like it.

Me too. It won't hurt to introduce things but don't expect much from a 2 year old. Not much more from a 3 year old, and you'll be lucky to get 30 mins a time out of a 4 year old. LOL! They don't have a great attention span at that age. That said, I am a homeschooling mom (my daughter is 7) and I personally recommend Abeka curriculum (their phonics and language stuff is excellent, we love it) and I hear Sonlight is excellent as well. There is a TON of stuff out there, especially at a young age. Please let me know if I can help you in anyway. :)

I didn't do anything at 2 but while my sons were 3 and 4 and group of moms in the neighborhood did a little preschool. It worked best 2 days a week, 2 hours. That includes, playing, snack, games, etc. We used Mother Goose Time. It's awesome. They sent you a book with lesson plans all out. We took what we wanted of course. But then they send you 90% of the supplies to make all the activities and projects. Both boys LOVED it and learned so much through this program. It was activities they didn't know that they were learning through!!!!

I do a Letter of the week program utilizing ABC Fun & 123 supplemented with Explode the Code, simple math & counting, arts & crafts, worksheets and some computer time. We school 2 or 3 days a week anywhere from 1-3 hrs per sitting depending on how interested the boys seem at that school session! We are pretty laid back, but they are learning so it's all good!!
