My itunes library got damaged or something, and I had to do something.

Anyhow, I got most of my music back, but not all of it. I noticed had some cd's completely missing. My question is, can I get all the music that is on my ipod and put it on my computer?

I lost all my playlists.

It's possible but you would have to find a 3rd party software that will take the music off your iPod and load it back onto your computer. I've done it before when I lost music but I no longer have the name of the software I used (it was free). I would just google it and make sure your itunes is NOT set to automatically sync to your ipod when you connect it or it will replace your ipod music with what is currently in your itunes library before you can take the music off your ipod.

I've never been able to get music OFF my iPod...well, DH's iPod Nano (2nd generation). Drove me NUTS! I never thought of checking to see if there was a program to recover files like that, though...wish I had because I've screwed up my iTunes SO many times and lost playlists numerous times...ugh!

Ok, since it had been probably 2 iPods ago that I had to do this, I wanted to make sure I wasn't putting my foot in my mouth. :p Seems there are still a few different options out there. iPod Rip sounds like the one I used to have though it's no longer free. I'm sure there are some free ones out there though...

Thanks Sari, I ending up paying the money and I think it was well worth it. All my stuff is syncing back up now.

You're a life saver.
